"It's fatphobic, it's racist, and it's hurtful."  Singer Lizzo got emotional as she addressed the hate she received after her new song "Rumors" feat. Cardi B was released.

00:04It's fatphobic and it's racist and it's hurtful.

00:15On the days I feel like I should be the happiest,

00:21it just, I feel so down.

00:24Like, I've hurt so hard.

00:34I've been working triple time, like quadruple time.

00:40I'm putting so much loving energy into the world.

00:50And bro, sometimes

00:54I feel like the world just don't love me back.

01:03Just like it doesn't matter how much positive energy you put into the world,

01:07you're still going to have people who have something,

01:13something mean to say about you.

01:17And for the most part, it doesn't hurt my feelings.

01:20I don't care.

01:21I just think when I'm working this hard, my tolerance gets lower.

01:31My patience is lower.

01:32I'm more sensitive and it gets to me.

01:40There are so many people who love rumors and I'm so happy.

01:46I really am because we worked hard and I know that this hard work has paid off.

01:52I just feel like I'm seeing negativity

01:58directed towards me in the most weirdest way.

02:03Like, people saying shit about me that just doesn't even make sense.

02:09It's fatphobic and it's racist and it's hurtful.

02:15If you don't like my music, cool.

02:17If you don't like rumors and song, cool.

02:21But a lot of people don't like me because of the way I look.

02:26And I'm like, I make music that I like, that's important to me.

02:34And I make music that I hope helps people.

02:41I'm not making music for white people.

02:43I'm not making music for anybody.

02:47I'm a Black woman making music.

02:49I make Black music, period.

02:51I'm not serving anyone but myself.

02:55Everyone is invited to a Lizzo show, to a Lizzo song, to this good energy.

03:01Everyone's invited.

03:02For the people who just always want to have something negative to say about me

03:05that has nothing to do with the music or the content of my character

03:11or me as an artist and just has everything to do with my body

03:15or whatever trope you think I fall into, suck my from behind.

03:22But what I won't accept

03:28is y'all doing this to Black women over and over and over again,

03:31especially us big Black girls.

03:34When we don't fit into the box that you want to put us in,

03:40you just unleash hatred onto us.

03:43It's not cool.

03:45I'm doing this for the big Black women in the future

03:48who just want to live their lives without being scrutinized or put into boxes.
