00:00The Bureau of Internal Revenue confirmed that many social media influencers do not pay income and business tax.

00:07But some influencers have an answer to that.

00:14It's not easy to earn money.

00:15But because of social media,

00:17online personalities are looking for a chance to be seen and heard on streaming platforms.

00:24Aside from content,

00:25there are audiences who are called social media influencers

00:29because for them, it's a way to earn money.

00:31But according to the Bureau of Internal Revenue,

00:33there are still many influencers who do not pay income tax and business tax.

00:38Krysha Joy is an answer.

00:39She is a social media influencer who is slowly becoming known online.

00:42Being an influencer is not considered a regular employment.

00:46I personally understand why it's right to do that.

00:50Like, if we're just talking about the fairness of all working individuals,

00:55but personally, I feel like influencers shouldn't be taxed

01:00because it's a project-based type of work.

01:03Like freelancers don't normally get taxed whenever they do a project.

01:09Aside from the knowledge of the majority,

01:10you don't automatically see yourself when you trend on social media.

01:14For example, YouTube and Spotify, it's pristine.

01:18But as per TikTok, Instagram,

01:22it's just trending.

01:24There's no commission when it comes to the views that you get

01:29from the watch hours that people watch your videos.

01:33Krysha Joy adds,

01:34being an influencer is not easy.

01:36You always have to keep up with the trends

01:38because even if it's trending,

01:40it's possible that companies won't notice.

01:42According to social media manager CJ Mahilum,

01:44influencers will have a hard time,

01:46especially those who are called micro-influencers

01:48who are required to pay tax.

01:50It's just luck that they were able to pay the talent fee.

01:53We call it an ex-deal.

01:55So with those terms,

01:58in our ex-deal,

02:01usually,

02:03they ex-deal the content

02:05in exchange of the services, the products

02:08that they will promote.

02:10So basically, they will not get anything from the company monetary.

02:15They really won't get anything.

02:17So if you get them a tax,

02:30if those influencers are in the category

02:36receive the amount that they were able to pay.

02:41or I think there's a specific timeline also.

02:44For those who want to be a social media influencer,

02:47it's more important to make the content they make and upload happy

02:50and it's a bonus that they earn.
