00:15In the released statement by Justice Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano,
00:20they are asking for clarification on what was the basis of the court's denial of the extradition request.
00:26The Timor-Leste Court refused to extradite the former Congressman Arnulfo Tevez Jr. to the Philippines twice last June and December 2024.
00:32In addition to clarifying, the DOJ is urging that they will look for and investigate other legal remedies to bring back the former Congressman Arnulfo Tevez Jr. to the Philippines.
00:41The agency is also calling for the authorities to respect the process of the Philippine law
00:46and urge for international cooperation to bring back the former Congressman Arnulfo Tevez Jr. to the Philippines
00:50because he was charged with murder, attempted murder and frustrated murder against Tevez in court.
00:56Tevez will be remembered as the mastermind behind the Pamplona massacre
01:00or the killing of the former Negros Oriental Governor Ruel de Gamo and others in March 2023.
01:06As of now, Tevez's case is still in the Manila Regional Trial Court.
