Disha Salian's father seeks FIR against Aaditya Thackeray

Disha Salian's father has approached the Bombay High Court seeking registration of an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray and others in connection with his daughter's death five years ago.

00:04It's been nearly five years since the death of the celebrity manager.

00:07Remember that it happened at the same time as the death of Sushant Singh Rajput,

00:11which had, of course, made headlines back then.

00:14Disha Salia also died almost five years ago.

00:18And now her father, Satish Salia, has approached the Bombay High Court

00:22seeking a registration of an FIR against Aditya Thackeray and several others.

00:28Aditya Thackeray's name had come up even then, but there was no evidence against Aditya Thackeray.

00:33Now Disha Salia's father has again spoken out,

00:37saying that while he didn't want to talk about it earlier, he was scared.

00:40He's decided enough is enough.

00:42He's gone ahead and filed a petition now in the court.

00:46What does this petition say?

00:47It urges the court to essentially order the registration of an FIR

00:51against Aditya Thackeray and also transfer the investigation now to the CBI.

00:56The plea also alleged that Disha was brutally raped and murdered

01:00and that there was a politically orchestrated cover-up to protect certain influential persons.

01:05In this case, you've got Disha Salia's father naming Aditya Thackeray.

01:09Now the Maha Aghadi has, in fact, dismissed these allegations,

01:14even as the Mahayati is pushing for Aditya Thackeray to, in fact, for action against him.

01:21They're questioning what really was his location on June 6th, 2020.

01:25That was the day that Disha Salia was killed.

01:29Now the Aghadi, at this point, is, in fact, going ahead and referring to this as an accident.

01:36We don't know if this was an accident or death, but there is a huge controversy playing out.

01:41Nearly after five years, it's back in the focus because of Disha Salia's father.

01:45Listen to what he said first.

01:56He said that it wasn't a suicide, it was a murder.

02:00If this is how it happened, then at least they'll be able to discuss whether it was a suicide or a murder.

02:09And in this, the case of Sushant will also be cleared.

02:14We have a lot of hope in the current CM.

02:18Whatever he does, he'll do it on his level.

02:23See, that time, the government was M.B.A.

02:27And I believe every person should, of course, get justice.

02:32And Disha Salian, of course, she was our Mumbai girl.

02:39And I think it's our duty to give justice to her.

03:23Disha Salia's father has said this clearly.

03:53If any person is trying to get justice, he should get justice.

04:21He has gone to the court.

04:22We wish him all the best.

04:24But if you look at BJP, now they will start doing politics about this.

04:30Because four years back, Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide had happened.

04:34Immediately after the suicide, you know, such kind of banners were put in Bihar.

04:40What does this banner say?

04:41You know, we want justice for Sushant Singh.

04:44Only for election purposes.

04:46Bihar election got over.

04:48And after that, Sushant Singh was forgotten.

04:52You see, this is very unfortunate thing that has been witnessed very frequently these days.

05:16Whenever a serious crime is committed and it surfaces, the policemen who are supposed

05:22to investigate, collect evidence and then put up the case before the court for the purpose

05:29of justice, administration of criminal justice.

05:32But unfortunately, the trend these days is that there is a lot of political interference,

05:38either from the side of the suspect or from the side of victim.

05:44Both, you see, is something which is improper.

05:48So, these allegations clearly setting off a political storm in Maharashtra.

05:52We get to hear from Aditya Thackeray about these allegations against him.

05:56But let me bring in Vidya, who's joining us live from Mumbai.

05:59Vidya, this particular case was in the spotlight when it happened back in 2020.

06:03And even then, there were all sorts of allegations levelled against Aditya Thackeray.

06:07Run us through what the police had established in their investigation into this particular

06:12case, Vidya.

06:13And why is Disha's father spoken out now?

06:15Well, the reasons why he is spoken out now is, you know, written in the petition, is

06:20that, you know, over the years, they have really thought about this as to how, you know,

06:25the kind of evidences that the Mumbai police had been stating was not exactly the way they

06:31had, they could see later.

06:32You know, when they look at hindsight, they said that they remember that when the, you

06:38know, the spot that was shown by Mumbai police as the spot where the girl was shot, you know,

06:45the spot where the girl had fallen from the 14th floor, well, that should have been splattered

06:48in blood.

06:49You know, she should have suffered fractures.

06:51And now when they look at the entire evidence, now they realize that she had not suffered,

06:56the postmortem also did not reveal much about any fractures being suffered by Disha Salian,

07:02but when she had fallen from the 14th floor of the building, and there was no, you know,

07:09bloodstains, spots around that time when this entire incident had happened.

07:14Well, these are instances that they're recounting about it now.

07:17So obviously, you know, the evidences are not there any longer.

07:22But then the Mumbai police has already formed the SIT, if you remember in 2023, which is

07:30also investigating this entire issue, will really have to see because in the last more

07:34than two and a half years or so, the SIT did not really come up with a report per se, as

07:40to what really had happened, or whether the investigation was done properly or not.

07:44You know, these are a lot of things that are already in the purview of the SIT.

07:48We'll really have to see whether what the SIT really says now.

07:52And as to why, you know, the kind of evidences that the family is talking about now,

07:58do they really hold any vote?

08:01Let's see what really the investigation throws up right now, because Disha's father claims

08:07that she was raped and murdered.

08:09And so far in the investigation, it seems to be suggesting that this was an accidental

08:13death.

08:13Remember, this has happened in 2020, when Disha Salian had fallen off a high-rise building.

08:17There are so many questions in this particular case.

08:20We'll hopefully get answers now with this coming up in court.
