Members of the Unite union staged a protest in Sheffield today over the waste disposal firm failing to recognise the union

00:00Yes, the bin men and loaders and drivers from Veolia Lumley Street Depot have been out on strike for 7 months

00:07because their employer refuses to recognise the union of their choice, which is Unite the Union.

00:11So we've been out for 7 months and we're trying to get Veolia Management and Sheffield City Council to run the contract round the table.

00:30I think it's been very successful, considering that we've done an international piece, we've been around Europe campaigning about this

00:36and there's colleagues from CGT here today to join us. This is escalating rather than going away, if I'm honest.
