00:00A public servant admitted not guilty in the court of the New Johor Magistrate against a new accusation

00:08for raping a non-Muslim man who ate in a public place during Ramadan.

00:13Abdul Razak Ismail was reported to have made a false accusation

00:17after the accusation was read in front of Magistrate A. Sharmini today.

00:21Razak was accused of deliberately causing injury to the victim,

00:25Ilai Jahling, 21 years old, in a shopping mall in New Johor at 6.15 pm on March 16.

00:33The accusation was presented under Section 323 of the Penal Code,

00:38which stipulates a prison sentence of up to two years,

00:41a maximum sentence of RM2,000 or both at a time if proven guilty.

00:46First, Razak initially admitted guilty of the accusation of injuring the victim,

00:51but then refuted the facts of the case,

00:54causing Sharmini to reject the false accusation and ordered a trial to be held.

01:00Razak was released without bail following the technical issue which was later resolved.
