The Miami Heat is mired in a 7 game losing streak after losses to Boston and Memphis this weekend... They take on the New York Knicks tonight. Tobin continues to convince himself that he isn't "broken."

01:41and i came back and they were down by 20 and i'm like what the hell just yeah i think they got to

01:46like 12 like bam came out of the third quarter cooking and i'll never forget like i was like

01:51watch this like all right he's getting it going because he was he was kind of having a quiet night

01:55again i'm like all right i don't know what's going on we're going back to pre all-star band what's

01:59going on here and then like tyler hero just decides no no no no no boy wonder time now

02:06and just like completely forgets bam and just throws up these bricks bam's like in the corner

05:15point at the way they lose but the celtics are like losing to the celtics is always going to

05:20piss me off just like whenever you lose to a rival it's gonna piss you off just like when

05:24they lose the next i hate losing the next no matter what they're better it doesn't matter

05:29i understand about it no one like i didn't get on there saying oh we're just with this team

05:34but it's like it's where it stands for it's like here we are and the miami heat's last maneuver

05:42to combat the celtics was to trade a first round pick for terry rozier and terry rozier got the dnp

05:49coach's decision against the celtics and they don't have jimmy butler and it's like here are

05:55the celtics and it's like what do they do when they kick their ass that you know they're going

06:00and they're getting porzingis and they're getting drew holliday and they're and they did actual

06:04maneuvers to substantially improve their roster when the heat just kind of kicked their feet up

06:10and i'm just like nah we'll see you know why let me tell you why tyler's while while the celtics

06:16were making moves and bringing in players you know the heat we're doing heat culture

06:22yeah he coached it they're like oh we're getting tyler back this is going to be great don't worry

06:28about it and but talent is talent like you can play with all of the enthusiasm and culture you

06:38want to at some point no matter how hard you play you got to have some talent to beat these other

06:44teams yeah they don't have it and here's the other thing the the other thing is this

06:52over the last 10 years the heat have been very selective about who they play what the rotation is

07:04a guy could have five threes one night and the next night play two minutes right to the point

07:11where now nobody on the team besides the starters have consistent minutes and what has happened and

07:20what i feel has happened is you have prolonged the uh the young players process through you know

07:34getting to a certain point so for example use the old 10,000 rep mantra you remember the book

07:4110,000 reps you do anything 10,000 times yeah right so on other teams when a guy gets drafted

07:51in the first round he may get his 10,000 minutes in two or three years right have a long you know

07:57he's playing they throwing him out there to get his minutes kind of how we feel about quarterbacks

08:02right but on this team a guy could have 20 and 10 and Spogos go to Sioux Falls for a minute

08:13so those minutes those 10,000 minutes get stretched out well you keep it like i think

08:18he played like one game for Sioux Falls this year you keep making it seem like

08:24all of his learning should have been at this level based on his team's needs

08:28mm-hmm okay but he's done that with a lot of young players like look at what dunks dunks is

08:37the roller coaster of minutes but my question is and it's always been if it takes a certain

08:44amount of time to get to a certain level why are we extending that time frame to where we never

08:52really know and they've done it with a lot of young players whereas other teams say we're going

08:58to take our lumps now but this kid is a player and in a year or two he's going to figure it out

09:04we don't do that and so now this is you know Kalel's in and out he's got some things he

09:14got to learn i get that he played well on uh he played well on on saturday right it was one of

09:19the lone bright spots he played he probably had one of his better offensive games in a while in

09:23order for him to get some more consistency until you know except when Terry Rozier was

09:27stealing the basketball from him which was mind-blowing happy birthday Terry by the way

14:02tobin but here's why i feel for him because i know how much he loves the heat and you can sit down

14:10and watch all these games and after every game you go what in the hell just happened

14:17and it's not being able to explain it and then here's what i'll tell you here's what put you on

14:26the tequila it's not even the game to hear him talk about it after the game oh my god you're like

14:35i'm like are y'all watch are y'all playing the same game i'm watching because hey that is not

15:15right and i say go play basketball i feel that they would be more comfortable

15:22and be able to play basketball because they would take it upon themselves to do certain things

15:28but sometimes when you get coached to do certain things it doesn't quite reflect

15:38what you're trying to do on on the basketball court yeah they just they just a lot of a lot

15:44of the young guys look like they're trying so hard to earn minutes that they're not playing basketball
