I thought I'd do you a new video with an update. So I've been out for 10 weeks now and I'm
00:14
under pressure. As you've seen, I've been posting things. I made you all aware that
00:20
I'm now being told I've got to go back to Blackpool in a week's time, unless I come
00:28
up with a private rented accommodation that can be checked and verified and accepted by
00:37
probation. So I'm having to do all this myself, by the way. I've served 17 years, as you know.
00:45
Come out, I had to do everything myself and I'm still battling to find the correct accommodation
00:53
to keep me out of the clutches of Blackpool. And that's as much for that town and the people
01:01
in it as much for me. So since my last videos, I've been in contact with National Press,
01:12
a major TV channel, several MPs. You've seen I've had a bit of a misunderstanding with
01:22
Jenberg, but, you know, we'll sort that out at some point, I hope. But right now, as things
01:30
stand, I am seven days away from being forced back to the town that I really don't want
01:35
to go to, that really doesn't want me to come to. And a town that causes me severe trauma
01:43
that has been documented, as you've seen as well. So I've done everything I can.
01:52
This is what's happening to thousands of prisoners who've been released. We're up against
02:00
a mountain of problems. And I'm obviously trying to navigate that as a disabled man
02:07
as well, a man who has a mental health condition. And it's really, really difficult. But I've
02:17
done everything I can to all of you. I'm in direct contact with you, you've seen that.
02:24
Thank you, all of you who are supporting everything I'm trying to do. Your messages, your text
02:32
messages, your phone calls, they're just, you're holding me up. So since a lot of your
02:41
little message tonight, you never walk alone. And you don't, because you're good people.
02:48
And you've reached out to me, which means I don't walk alone. And as a Liverpool fan,
02:54
obviously that song and those words mean everything. They're my go-to words, they're my go-to song.
03:00
But for all of you as well in your own personal lives, your own family lives, don't forget
03:07
those words because they're powerful. They're like a prayer to me, they're like a prayer
03:12
to Liverpool fans. I'm hoping by sending you those messages of you never walk alone, you'll
03:23
also understand that I'm saying this could go wrong in a week's time. I could be recalled.
03:30
I could be sent back to prison for something I've not done. I'm not going to commit any
03:35
offence that would get me recalled. I'm going to do everything I can to abide by the conditions
03:40
of my licence. But one of those major ones is you must live as directed by your probation
03:50
officer. And right now they're directing. I have to go back to Liverpool. The thought
04:00
process is I'm going to be given a train ticket. I'm going to be expected to travel
04:05
alone next week in my wheelchair without any assistance and with all my personal possessions,
04:15
bags. How that's going to happen, I don't know. I have no clue. I've raised this with
04:20
him today face-to-face on a video link. My key worker in the hostel I'm currently in
04:26
sat with me and she was just shocked by his response. And I've used breaches of duty of
04:35
care, breaches of the Discrimination Act, my human rights, my mental health, and multiple
04:44
other layers. I've got solicitors looking into it. We're looking at judicial review
04:49
and it could be a significant damage. Should I have to go through all of that? No. Did
04:55
anybody come out of prison? No. Should anybody be treated like this in general? No. Any
05:02
disabled person? No. Anybody with a mental health condition? No. But it is what it is
05:08
and we're here where we are. What will be will be. I've decided that if things don't
05:17
turn out as I'm trying then I will turn up next week in Blackpool. And if it goes wrong
05:23
it's not on me. I will fight until the moment I have to get on that train. The moment I have to
05:32
get off the train. I've had multiple conversations today with press, legals, friends, and yeah,
05:48
this is just me documenting right now with one week to go. This is the position I'm in.
05:58
I'm going to keep going. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing. You've seen the personal
06:01
message I've put up about the case. That is fact. There's no deviation from it. I've never
06:08
deviated from that in 17 years. I understand how all of you can probably be thinking,
06:17
why would you plead guilty? Why did you plead guilty to murder? Why did you? I was in a position
06:25
that I had no choice. I had no choice. I was going to run the trial. I was going all day for trial
06:35
and they did what they did. And I'm not saying put yourself in my shoes because you couldn't.
06:41
And I would never want anybody to be put in that position.
06:47
You know, I made that decision in the moment and it was to protect my family.
06:55
And I'd do it again in a heartbeat. So you're probably thinking, well, why are you raising it
07:01
then? Because it shouldn't have happened. The legal team that did that shouldn't have done it.
07:07
And that happens all the time in courts, as I've said before. And I wouldn't want anybody to go
07:12
through that. So I put a little video up to take a little song and a message. Look out because here
07:18
I come. And they're going to, trust me, they're going to dance to the beat of my drum because
07:25
I've had to do it their way. It's my way now. And I'm not going to hide. I'm not going to shy away
07:32
if I have to face what I have to face alone and so be it. But they're going to dance to the beats
07:38
of my drum. So the person who keeps sending me these little songs, thank you. Honestly, you know
07:47
who you are. All my strength and all my energy right now is driving me like it's never done before.
08:02
You know, I stood for 17 years in prison and I'm going to do it in a different way now.
08:08
But I'm using those skills again. And I'm very proud of who I am now. I didn't used to be.
08:18
I didn't used to be for a long, long time in my life. For many, many reasons, alcoholism,
08:24
letting my children down, upsetting my family, you know. But I'm a better man right now. And I
08:32
know I am. I had to turn myself around in prison and I've had to turn myself around in the last
08:41
10 weeks out here. But I'm doing what I can. I'm going to stay strong. I'm going to stay focused
08:47
and I'm going to put the ball in their court. I'll turn up in Blackpool. I'll sit on a donkey.
08:52
I'll eat their candy floss if I have to. But it'll be to the beat of my drum.
08:57
And when it goes wrong, I promise you it won't be because of me.
09:03
Keep watching. That's all I can keep asking you. You know, if you're getting bored, I apologise.
09:11
This is going to come to a head. It is going to come to a point where
09:14
senior legal officials in the justice system are going to have to act in my case.
09:22
And when they do in my case, I'll flick a domino and they'll have to do it in everyone's.
09:33
I get why you're questioning. Why would you plead guilty?
09:39
Why would you plead guilty? How many times a day do you think I've asked myself that?
09:47
And it's always the answer the same for my child.
09:54
He was six weeks old. I had no choice. I had to protect my boy and I'd do it again in a heartbeat,
10:00
like I said. But what they did has got to be answered for because it can never happen again.
10:07
Anyway, rambled on enough. Seven days. Let's see what comes. Just remember to the beat of my drum
10:15
now. As always, my love's with you. My heart's with you. I hope you stay with me. Take care of
10:21
each other because that's important. Look after each other, your family, your friends, your
10:25
neighbours. Yeah. Love. Take care. Bye.
