00:00As you know in the whole month of March we're focusing on various conditions that causes

00:05ejaculatory disorders and today we're talking about something called retrograde ejaculation

00:18Retrograde ejaculation in the colloquial terms is also described as dry climax or dry orgasm

00:26Why would something like that happen? In fact let's talk about the basic physiology

00:31For a man to ejaculate it needs several components in the anatomy and physiology that's working

00:39Ejaculation itself actually comes from the prostate so in order not to mix the sperms

00:44together with the urine the bladder neck needs to contract and there will be propulsions of

00:50the semen forward to the outside of the body so if anything that actually makes the bladder

00:57neck relax then it will cause a retrograde ejaculation. Some people are very alarmed by

01:03this for example when you have an orgasm that's completely dry then you think something has gone

01:09wrong. Don't worry the actual retrograde ejaculation will not cause any harm to your body

01:15however it may cause a bit of frustration and also infertility. So let's go down to the basic

01:23details of what cause retrograde ejaculation. The commonest reason why actually is something

01:30called the medications such as alpha blockers or anticholinergic. Medications like this intend to

01:39open up the smooth muscles it's used in blood pressure and also prostate enlargement as a result

01:46of that men who takes this apart from getting lower blood pressure they also get retrograde

01:52ejaculations. Apart from that the other common reason why people get this is a neurological

01:59condition as a result of diabetes. For example actually severe diabetes or uncontrolled diabetes

02:07will cause neuropathy and the neuropathy itself may result in the constrictions of the bladder

02:13neck to be impaired hence retrograde ejaculations. The other type of reasons why people get it is

02:20because of an operation. We do an operation called TURP which is transurethral resections of bladder

02:29or prostate. After this resection the bladder neck is opened up as a result of that men will

02:36permanently have problem with retrograde ejaculation. So now you know if this happens

02:42what are the causes. When we rectify the causes most of the time it can be improved however after

02:48surgery it's permanently becoming retrograde ejaculations as a complication and also sadly

02:56there's no medication that can be used in order to rectify retrograde ejaculation. From one type

03:04of ejaculate disorder we're focusing on another type of ejaculate disorder what we call an
