00:32The Department of Agriculture through the Bureau of Soils and Water Management has officially
00:38started the construction of two soil laboratories and the installation of a mobile soil laboratory
00:44in Palawan. Recently, a memorandum of agreement was signed between the DA and the three local
00:51government units in Palawan where the project will be established. The ceremony also included
00:58the groundbreaking for the new soil laboratory. The initiative was first announced by DA
01:04Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Alvin Jan F. Balagbag during the 2024 Farmers and Fisheries
01:11Clustering and Consolidation National Cluster Summit in Puerto Princesa City.
01:17The Agri Department has chosen the towns of Brooks Point and Rizal as the sites for the permanent soil
01:24testing laboratories while a mobile soil laboratory will be set up in the municipality of Orlan.
01:31With the soil laboratories in place, farmers will gain quick access to necessary information
01:37about their land, ensuring they use the right farm inputs for optimal results.
01:44The Department of Agriculture added that President Marcos has been a strong proponent
01:49of establishing soil laboratories across Mimaropa Region which has made this project a reality.
