00:30We could tell that there was some obvious trauma.

00:32She didn't want to be in this situation.

00:34And the closer I got to her, even as slow as I was going,

00:37she was looking around, looking for her exit route.

00:43She wanted to go past me, but she was too scared to.

00:46I was saying out of my breath,

00:48because that water was really, really cold.

00:57I wanted her to trust me, but there was no way she was going to.

01:00But in that moment, it was pretty much a life or death thing,

01:03because if she wouldn't have been on the dock where she was at that time,

01:06we would have never been able to catch her.

01:20When I got close to her,

01:21I could see that she had one blue eye and one brown eye,

01:23and she was so pretty.

01:26She most likely lived her life outside,

01:28and her demeanor and behavior showed us that

01:31she hasn't had a whole lot of socialization.

01:33We brought her into our office,

01:34so we could look her over as best as we could without touching her.

01:42Kind of just let her hang out

01:44and get used to the shelter and people the first few days.

01:52We tried to use treats as a form to bond.

01:55We started just small, light touches,

01:58and if she didn't like it, we would stop.

02:00Mingo only started to come out of her shell

02:02when we started introducing her to other dogs.

02:06Ralphie was the first dog that Mingo got to meet.

02:09That was the first time we'd ever seen her raise her tail,

02:12perk her ears up because she was excited to see another dog.

02:18Mingo definitely needs a special family

02:20that has time and patience to work with her and show her love.
