Good morning to all of you and live from the Pag-Asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:06
This is the current time of the week, March 9, 2025.
00:11
And in our latest satellite images, we can still see the effect of the shear line
00:15
which will still bring cloudy skies with a high chance of rain particularly in the Bicol region,
00:22
as well as in the areas of Aurora, Quezon, Laguna and Rizal
00:27
as well as in the areas of Milan, Cagayan, Isabela and Cordillera.
00:31
So there is still a potential for sudden landslides,
00:34
particularly in the areas of the eastern part of Southern Luzon,
00:38
especially in the Quezon province and Bicol region.
00:41
Meanwhile, the North-East Monsoon will still continue.
00:44
Although we expect that it will continue to weaken in the coming days,
00:48
it will still affect the areas of Ilocos Norte, Batanes and Babuyan Islands
00:52
where it will still bring isolated and dry and weak rains.
00:55
Meanwhile, you can see the cloudy skies in the Mindanao region.
01:01
Our countrymen expect that there will be a potential for cloudy skies in the Mindanao region
01:06
where there will be scattered rains particularly in the southern part of Mindanao
01:11
and in the western section of Mindanao.
01:14
In other parts of our country, in Metro Manila,
01:17
where there are heavy rains in Mindanao and Luzon,
01:20
we still expect that there will be isolated and dry rains,
01:24
landslides and landslides,
01:26
followed by easter days and localized thunderstorms.
01:29
As of now, we are not monitoring any low-pressure areas.
01:32
There is a small chance that there will be a typhoon for this week.
01:35
Generally, the month of March is one of the months
01:38
where there are very few typhoons entering the Philippine area of responsibility.
01:44
And here in Luzon, we expect that there will be a big chance of cloudy skies
01:49
with heavy rains particularly in the mainland of Cagayan, Cordillera, Isabela,
01:55
Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol region,
01:59
as well as the provinces of Laguna and Rizal in the Calabarzon region.
02:05
This is the tip of the shear line, where there is still hot and cold wind.
02:09
This Bicol region may continue to experience heavy rains until tomorrow, Monday.
02:15
Meanwhile, in the Batanes and Babuyan Islands,
02:18
along with Ilocos Norte, we expect that there will be isolated
02:21
and dry rains in the north-east of Luzon,
02:24
while in Manila and other parts of Luzon,
02:27
we will continue to experience isolated and dry rains,
02:30
along with landslides and landslides.
02:32
The temperature outside is 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:35
In Baguio, it is 15 to 25 degrees Celsius.
02:38
In Tuguegarao, it is 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:41
In Metro Manila, it is 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:44
In Tagaytay, it is 23 to 31 degrees Celsius,
02:47
while in Legazpi, in the Bicol region, it is 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
02:52
In the Palawan and Mindanao regions,
02:54
we expect that the skies will be cloudy
02:56
and that there is a high chance of rain in the Palawan region.
02:59
This is still the tip of the shear line.
03:02
The water temperature in Calayaan Islands is 26 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:06
In Puerto Princesa, it is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:09
In Visayas, there is a high chance of rain
03:14
compared to other parts of the country.
03:19
The water temperature in Tacloban is 25 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:22
In Cebu, it is 26 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:24
In Iloilo, it is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:28
There will be rainy season in other parts of Mindanao,
03:32
particularly in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
03:35
This is also the case in the Soxargen and Davao region.
03:39
This is the tip of the shear line,
03:41
which is the wind blowing from the Pacific Ocean.
03:43
Most parts of Mindanao will experience isolated or dry rains.
03:49
The temperature in Zamboanga is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:53
In Cagendeoro, it is 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.
03:55
In Davao, it is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:00
Meanwhile, we do not have a high gale warning in any part of our country
04:03
because we are expecting it to be moderate
04:06
especially in the northern and central regions of Luzon
04:10
due to the arrival of the flood.
04:12
Please be careful, especially for the small sea vehicles.
04:15
Meanwhile, in our heat index,
04:17
we can see that the areas with high heat index decreased yesterday
04:21
because we experienced scattered rains in a large part of our country.
04:25
In Metro Manila, the heat index is from 31 to 35 degrees Celsius.
04:29
Meanwhile, in Puerto Princesa and Palawan,
04:32
the heat index is 42 degrees Celsius.
04:34
In San Jose and Occidental Mindoro,
04:36
the heat index is 41 degrees Celsius.
04:38
Meanwhile, in Puerto Princesa and Palawan,
04:40
the heat index is 41 degrees Celsius.
04:42
Today, on March 9,
04:44
here in Metro Manila,
04:46
we are expecting the heat index to be from 31 to 35 degrees Celsius.
04:51
Meanwhile, the areas with the highest heat index
04:56
are San Jose and Occidental Mindoro,
05:00
Puerto Princesa and Palawan,
05:02
Veracat and Duanes,
05:03
and Iloilo City, Iloilo,
05:05
which is 41 degrees Celsius.
05:06
Again, the heat index is the combination of temperature and moisture
05:12
or the mixture of air.
05:14
Because of that,
05:15
it can be higher than the usual temperature
05:18
because it depends on how hot we feel.
05:22
So be careful to our countrymen,
05:24
especially in the afternoon,
05:26
this is where we experience the highest heat index.
05:32
Meanwhile, our day is popular.
05:34
It's 6.08 a.m. in the morning and 6.06 p.m. in the evening.
05:39
