00:00So, they're saying that the big winner after it's all said and done of the NHL trade deadline

00:08is that Mitch Marner is going to be the richest guy this summer in free agency after Rantanen

00:13got $12 million, that Marner's going to get the big bag coming out of Toronto.

00:19Well, let me just, I'll put it to you this way.

00:23Let me ask you this straight up.

00:25Just without, forget what he's been paid now and what everything else.

00:29Who would you rather have on your team?

00:31You can only pick one of them.

00:32Do you want Mitch Marner or do you want Miko Rantanen?

00:35First, you can only take one of them.

00:37That's too easy, Rantanen.

00:41Now some would say that Rantanen is a product of his environment, playing with Nathan McKinnon

00:47and that's why his numbers have been so big and he went in Bellywood, went with the Carolina.

00:51Now he's going to do it again in Dallas.

00:54He's got pretty good guys.

00:55He's going to be around Dallas as well.

00:58That's not stupid.

00:59You know, yeah, Marner's going to get a lot, Marner's going to get some money.

01:04He's going to get paid handsomely.

01:06We'll see if it's going to be Toronto where he ends up.

01:11Obviously, we know Rantanen, Marshawn, Nelson, really the biggest stuff today.

01:20A lot of minor deals, but here's the problem with some of these minor deals, Scotty.

01:26Like Brandon Tanev, a second rounder, Scott Laughton, a first rounder, Bavillier, a second

01:32rounder.

01:33Like, that's like a bit of a steal for the Penguins, getting a second rounder for Bavillier,

01:38getting a second and a fourth for Luke Shen, who they just got like two days ago from Nashville.

01:44Five minutes ago, they got that guy and they got a second and a fourth.

01:48Now, Riley Smith went back to Vegas.

01:50He was, of course, part of their cup winning team.

01:52That's the only time he's ever been good was when he played in Vegas.

01:57He sucked for the Penguins.

01:58He sucked for the Rangers.

01:59And now they brought him back to Vegas, where he's probably going to get kickstarted because

02:03that's the only place he's ever been good or happy.

02:11And even this Jake Wallman, the defenseman from the Sharks, he was a first round pick

02:16that Edmonton had to give up to get him.

02:19So some high prices, which of course bothers me because this dope Luke sat on his hands

02:26with guys who like Kyle Palmeri, J.G. Pajot, Anders Lee, guys that maybe he could have

02:32got some some big return for.

02:35And apparently the story came out he only traded Nelson because Nelson said he was wasn't

02:39going to reach.

02:40I wasn't sure if he'd resign or not.

02:41He wanted to wait until July 1st to be a free agent the other day.

02:45And I saw it.

02:46Did you see the interview where he was all teary eyed about Lamberty and he loves it

02:50so much.

02:51That's all he knows.

02:52And he's just I mean, I thought that guy was going to break down and the reporter chick

02:59was going to have to give him a kiss.

03:01And then he.

03:02But the whole time he didn't want to resign with him.

03:05Well, he didn't want to give them the commitment now.

03:09And I guess they were offering three years.

03:12He wanted five years there.

03:15See.

03:16And look, from that aspect, to be fair, I'm not really in the light of giving thirty five

03:22year old players a five year, seven and a half million dollar deal.

03:26That's not what you're going to be now.

03:27Is he going to be.

03:29What line is he going to be on in Rado?

03:32It seems like second line center behind McKinney.

03:34Now he'll line up in that second second group and he'll have the shoestring with them.

03:38He's going to have some players out there.

03:40He has a shot to win a Stanley Cup and let's face facts.

03:44He sniffed it a little bit in Long Island, but not realistically.

03:50And he's but he's sniffed it enough to know how badly you want it.

03:55Right.

03:56Like he's played a lot of playoff games with the Islanders, scored a lot of big playoff

04:00goals.

04:01That's the type of guy that will score you, you know, some big overtime winner in a game

04:06six.

04:07You know, that's the kind of guy that Brock Nelson is.

04:10It's a big ad for Colorado.

04:12And like I said, the islanders getting that kid back, the 20 year old that the avalanche

04:18took in the first round two years ago, he's a dynamic offensive player.

04:22He's lighting up the O.H.L.

04:25Islanders need players like that in their system.

04:28So hopefully that that I'm sure they'll screw it up somehow because they're good at doing

04:32that as well.

04:33So don't mess that up.
