00:02League a week away from the official start of the league

00:05year. That's 4pm Eastern Time exactly one week from right now.

00:09Next Wednesday, the Bears continue to bolster up the

00:12interior of their O-line trying to provide that anchor for the

00:16second year quarterback in Caleb Williams. The Bears trading for

00:20Joe Tooney, one of the best left guards you will find in football

00:24who still this year, AP first team all pro despite DRS having

00:28to be flexed out to left tackle for Kansas City. Now he was not

00:33great in the postseason, specifically Super Bowl 59. But

00:38he is one of the best interior offensive linemen that you will

00:42see he is 32 years old. He has played nine years in the

00:46National Football League, but the Bears in my estimation,

00:49getting a good deal to again, build up that offensive line to

00:54protect Caleb Williams.

00:55They had a lot of money to spend. They're spending money

00:57wisely here, protect your investment at quarterback

01:00strengthen the offensive line as much as you can. You got wide

01:03receivers, you got running backs. Now you just need to get

01:05that offensive line in gear and turn them into like a top. Let

01:08me say Ben, a top 10 offensive line, just give me a service of

01:11offensive line where a new head coach comes in and Ben Johnson

01:14says, you know what, I can run my plays here because I can snap

01:17a football and have at least three to four seconds to pass as

01:20opposed to hot hot hike. Oh, no avalanche pass rush coming in. I

01:24love this move, even though Tooney probably on the back end

01:26of his career, a veteran presence on the offensive line

01:29that as long as he's not out at left tackle, and by the way,

01:31credit him to be like, you know what, we don't have any tackle

01:34out here, coach, I'll go from guard to tackle and try to play

01:36with some of the best out here and was serviceable up until the

01:39Super Bowl. It's no surprise. What is interesting, though, is

01:42we understand that Joe Tooney was a key piece of that chiefs

01:45offensive line that wasn't very good. So maybe again, the chiefs

01:48know a little bit more free up some money, keep the you know,

01:51Trey Smith back there as a guard and sort of invest in that maybe

01:54through the draft as a better play forward than keeping Tooney

01:57at a little bit bigger money here. I think it's a win for

01:59both franchises here.
