00:00In this day and age, where almost everything is on the internet and the online world,
00:04many are victims of terrorism, corruption, and abuse using technology.
00:11That's why this morning, we will talk about gender-based online sexual harassment
00:16under the Safe Spaces Act or Bawal Bastos Law.
00:19What is gender-based online sexual harassment?
00:23According to the law, it refers to those who use information and communications technology
00:29or ICT or online platforms to threaten, harass, or abuse another person.
00:36Some of these examples are, first, harassment, whether it's physical, emotional,
00:41psychological, or threatening using the internet.
00:45Second, unwanted sexual remarks, bastos, sexist, misogynistic, homophobic,
00:53or transphobic comments online, even in private messages.
00:57Threats to privacy, such as cyber-stalking, or repeated messages.
01:05What is cyber-stalking?
01:07One of the most common forms of harassment is cyber-stalking.
01:12This is a repetition of sexual harassment and harassment using the internet or digital platforms.
01:19Remember, a simple look at a public profile is not a stalking.
01:25But if it is repeated and there is an intention to threaten or hurt another person,
01:31this can be a case of cyber-stalking.
01:34If we're talking about uploading or sharing sensitive content,
01:38such as pictures, videos, or audios,
01:41that has sexual content that is not to be copied,
01:43whether it's stealing someone's identity,
01:46or using someone's identity online to destroy their reputation,

02:06Anyone who breaks the law can be jailed for 6 months and 1 day,
02:12up to 2 years and 4 months.
02:16Aside from this, they can also be fined Php 100,000 to Php 500,000,
02:22or both jail and fine, depending on the court's decision.
02:27How to file a complaint and file a report?

02:34you can file a complaint to the NBI Cybercrime Division
02:39at the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group,
02:41Cybercrime Office of the Department of Justice of DOJ.
