00:00We discussed the strengthening of cooperation between Japan and the Philippines

00:05in the middle of the challenge in the Indo-Pacific region

00:08in the visit of the Defense Minister of Japan in the Philippines.

00:12The Japanese Defense Minister, Nakatani Gen,

00:15courtesy called President Marcos, where the President said

00:18that he hopes to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

00:22He also helped Defense Secretary Gilbert Chodoro

00:25about the strengthening of cooperation in the defense of the two countries.

00:30Nakatani said that Japan aspires for a broader operational cooperation in the Philippines,

00:36a stronger people-to-people exchange,

00:39and the promotion of defense equipment and technology cooperation.

00:43Chodoro also thanked the first and second overseas security assistance of Japan

00:49including the radar system in the Wallis Air System in La Union

00:54that can detect those who will fly in the airspace of the Philippines,

00:58particularly in the West Philippine Sea.

01:00Chodoro also hopes that the Japanese legislature will discuss

01:05the Reciprocal Access Agreement or RAA in the Philippines

01:08just like the Visiting Forces Agreement of the Philippines and America.
