00:00So, so New York, so hello we are at the Westside Tavern today. What are we doing here, Declan?
00:08We are kicking off our Glasgow New York pizza slice. So we had to wait a wee while to get
00:15a collective, but with the opening of Sears just up the road, we've now got five places
00:20in Glasgow which is doing New York style pizza. If you don't know what New York style pizza
00:25is, it's a bit different to Neapolitan or any other style of pizza you might have eaten.
00:31It's usually quite crispy base, it's usually thin, it's usually got good stuff on top of
00:37it. You can find stuff like vodka sauces, maybe toppings that you wouldn't probably
00:42associate with traditional Italian pizza. So I'm looking forward to this, I think you
00:47are because we're both getting fed doing it. I know, I'm very looking forward to it. Pizza
00:51is one of my favourite foods. Yep, and Glasgow's got no shortage of good places for pizza.
00:56Our appeal though is we want more slice places. See if you're just walking by somewhere and
01:02you can pick up a slice because sometimes you don't want a full pizza, sometimes you
01:05just want a snack. We're going to make a good go of it today because we're going to get
01:08a full pizza in here. So a New York style pizza is characteristically larger and hand
01:16tossed and it is sold in slices. We are getting a full pizza today. It's very easily accessible
01:23down here, it's on the Barton Road, we're right beside Kelvin Hall Subway which is about
01:29eight minutes, six minutes from city centre. Yeah, it's literally a stone's throw away
01:33from the subway station. Oh that's good. That is good. That is really good. It has a really
01:38good crunch to it. I don't know if you'll be able to hear, maybe put it up beside our
01:41mic. That's right, you're not going to be able to hear it. It's very crunchy though.
01:46That's a bit better. Really crispy, really light too. It's really light. It's cut up
01:53quite nicely as well here. Perfect cheese to sauce rated trio. We're down to our last
01:58slice unfortunately. Nope. Didn't really want that to end did you? I know, I wasn't ready.
02:03Am I getting it to half first? No, you can have it. You sure? Yeah, honestly. Since it's
02:09your birthday. Oh right, grand. Yeah, this is a bit of a birthday treat for me, so thanks
02:12very much Caitlin. But as you can see, lovely, really nice thin crust that we've been able
02:16to see too well on the camera and it's been a treat. We have absolutely demolished this.
02:21I know, it's been about what, like 30 seconds? No, that was absolutely lovely. Yeah, it was
02:31lovely. Everything was perfect. What would you rate it out of ten? I don't know if we're
02:37going to fire out ten, but I'd probably give it a nine. I don't know if I'd be giving anybody
02:42a ten, but it's definitely a solid nine. Solid nine, yeah. There was not much you could say
02:47was wrong with that pizza at all. I don't have any notes. It did, what it said in the tin when
02:53you were explaining how your pizza was, it was thin, it was crispy, cheese was nice,
02:58it was cut up quite well and I don't feel that bad either. I just feel kind of nice.
