Hello students, my name is Ankush, I am senior OSCE faculty at OrchKids International School.
00:15
So today I am here to share some tips so that you all can score better in board chemistry
00:21
exam.
00:22
So as we know that from 21st board exams are going to start.
00:26
So chemistry exam is on 27th.
00:29
So those who are having AI as their elective subject for them only one day for their preparation
00:36
and for such student my sincere suggestion is to start preparing before physics exam
00:40
itself and the student who are not taken AI as their elective, they are having around
00:45
five days for the preparation.
00:47
Now how to do the preparation?
00:49
You need to divide your syllabus into three parts which is already divided that is a physical
00:54
chemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry.
00:56
So physical and inorganic chemistry they contribute around 37 marks and for that you can dedicate
01:02
out of five, three days where you can plan all the five chapters in those three days.
01:08
Now the remaining five chapters of the organic chemistry which contribute around 33 marks
01:12
for that you can keep two days for the revision.
01:16
Now how to do revision because chapters are lengthy.
01:19
So I'm sure you all have prepared your notes.
01:21
So you need to just quickly go through the notes.
01:23
You have to make your own mind maps.
01:25
You need to make your micro notes that will help you in a quick revision.
01:28
You need to use keywords which can you know give you the complete idea about that particular
01:32
topic.
01:33
So this is how you need to plan.
01:35
Now how to check your preparation for that the best source we are having is a previous
01:38
questions.
01:39
So do as much as previous year questions around five year question paper you should solve.
01:44
You will get the you know know where you are making the errors you will get improve your
01:49
accuracy you will get to know that how to manage the time and apart from that you need
01:55
to follow NCRT rigorously because most of the question you will see that they comes
02:00
from NCRT especially if you see that in organic chemistry.
02:04
So NCRT generally they ask question from NCRT so do not you know avoid NCRT it's a very
02:10
very important textbook just like a Bible for the chemistry.
02:15
Now apart from that some common error which student generally do during exam is because
02:19
of you know lack of alertness in the exam.
02:24
So they do not read questions carefully and if they don't read question for definitely
02:28
they may make mistake in writing the answers because they may skip some key information
02:33
or they may skip some key idea in a question.
02:36
You should focus on a question carefully.
02:39
Second thing numericals are you know physical chemistry maximum number of numericals comes
02:44
from physical chemistry right.
02:46
So you should use correct formula, correct logic, correct units, correct symbols, substitution
02:54
with correct units and double check your calculation in chemistry.
03:00
Then after that when you are writing the inorganic chemistry especially in IUPAC name you are
03:05
making lot of mistake.
03:06
You need to follow the rules very very rigorously whatever written in NCRT similarly to follow
03:12
the rules by writing their IUPAC name there should be no confusion between the IUPAC name
03:17
as well as the common name of the compounds.
03:19
Then we are having in organic chemistry student generally make mistake in mechanisms, student
03:25
make mistake in writing the reagents you should be very much clear about the reagents what
03:30
reagent you are using there should be no confusion in that.
03:33
So avoid these mistakes and get your best scores.
03:37
Now after this we are having some important topic as we are having lot of topic in chemistry
03:44
but I have picked certain few topic from different different chapters.
03:47
First of all we talk about the physical chemistry.
03:49
In physical chemistry if we see that the first chapter solution chapter the numerical comes
03:55
from the solution chapter.
03:56
So what are the topic for the numerical like we are having Raoult's law then we are having
04:00
molarity calculation, molarity calculation then we are having colligative properties
04:06
in that osmotic pressure or abnormal molar mass based numerical can be asked.
04:12
Then we are having Henry's law and its application and we are having azeotropes these are the
04:16
important topics in a solution chapter.
04:19
Then come to the your electrochemistry part, electrochemistry part definitely question
04:24
will come from based upon your the lead storage battery or based upon the reactions or maybe
04:30
from the you know the fuel cell and based upon fuel cell questions can be asked.
04:35
Now if we talk about the numerical part so in that definitely numerical will come from
04:39
these topic we are having Kolar's law then we are having Faraday's law we are having
04:43
Nernst equation we should use these with the right formula there should be no confusion
04:48
again I am telling in formula and in the application of you know substitution or in calculation.
04:54
Definitely numerical will come then we are having the limiting molar conductivity again
05:00
you have to take care about the units.
05:02
If it our third chapter so in that we are having chemical kinetics rate of reaction
05:07
and then we are in molecularity versus order of reaction then we are having the rate of
05:11
reaction elementary versus you know complex reactions so these are topic which are important.
05:17
Numericals generally asked based upon your first order or pseudo first order or based
05:21
upon Arrhenius equation numericals asked from this chapter.
05:25
Now after this we are having if we talk about the inorganic chemistry so inorganic chemistry
05:31
we are having like D and F block in D and F block properties are very important D and
05:37
F block then we are having lengthenite actinide contraction very important and differences
05:43
between similarity between them is very important then we can say trends in a transition element
05:49
very important ionization oxidation state magnetic spin magnetic properties they are
05:54
very important preparation of potassium dichromate and potassium permanganate very important
06:00
their oxidizing properties are very important so these are the few topics that are from
06:05
the D and F block some questions which are you know the very frequent kind of questions
06:10
that like why we are having you know the same size of your zirconium and hafnium so that
06:18
is a very important question so these are the few topic we are having from the transition
06:23
element that is D and F block.
06:26
So the second segment we are having is inorganic chemistry which is around 14 marks so in that
06:30
we are having two chapters D and F block and coordination compounds in D and F block
06:34
if we see that the properties of D and F block element is important then the lengthenite
06:39
actinide contraction and their differences between them similarities between them and
06:44
the properties of your transition element like ionization potential oxidation magnetic
06:48
properties very important then after that we can say that the color and the catalytic
06:52
properties of the transition metals is important then we can say preparation of potassium dichromate
06:58
and potassium permanganate is very important and along with their oxidation properties
07:03
so these are the few topics from D and F block along with that you need to focus more on
07:08
the questions which are there in NCRT.
07:11
Then the next chapter in inorganic is your coordination compound in coordination compound
07:15
very important is your IUPAC names you should follow the rules rigorously for IUPAC names
07:21
there should be no confusion in the rules after that we are having the valence bond
07:27
theory very important then we are having second crystal field theory important isomerism
07:32
both structural as well as geometrical isomerism is important then we have the chelate effect
07:37
hybridization so these are the few important topics from coordination compounds again NCRT
07:43
is very important so this is the section from inorganic.
07:48
So the last section we are having is organic chemistry 33 marks so 4 plus biomolecules
07:53
out of 4 chapter important naming reaction test and mechanisms are as in naming reaction
07:59
important is your SWOT reaction, Finkelstein reaction, Hydroboration, Colvay, Reimer, Timer,
08:04
Williamson, Ittard, Rosemann reaction, Aldol condensation, Cannizzaro reaction, Clemenson
08:09
reaction, Woll-Kirschner reaction, Gabriel reaction, Hoffman reaction these are the very
08:14
very important reaction you need to focus practice them multiple times multiple times
08:18
so that you should not make any mistake in exam definitely naming reactions are going
08:23
to come in the exam so you can check the previous questions also definitely will find
08:27
these naming reactions there also in future exams also the naming reaction can come should
08:32
not make any mistake then important test we are having is your Lucas test then we are
08:36
toluene test then we are having Phelan test, Iodoform test, Carbolamine test, Insperg test
08:43
and we are having Azodite test so these are the important tests we should focus then important
08:49
mechanism SN1, SN2 mechanism are important then we are having Acidic dehydration of alcohol
08:54
is important an addition of HI2 is important, Esterification, Nucleophilic addition important
09:00
then apart from that Bromination and Nitration of aniline is important, Acidic nature of
09:05
alcohol phenol and carboxylic acid is important basic nature of amines both in gases as well
09:13
as in aqua phase so these are a few topics you should focus and again I'm telling you
09:19
focus more on NCRT questions exercise in text questions are very very important now
09:24
the last chapter we are having is biomolecules that will give you 7 marks theoretical chapter
09:28
easy chapter but lengthy chapter number one amino acids important second degree structure
09:33
of a protein then we are having DNA RNA structures as well as difference then we have vitamins
09:38
water soluble insoluble vitamins then we are having is a question based upon the structure
09:43
of glucose so these are the few topics which I have shared definitely there they will help
09:49
you in scoring good marks in CVSE chemistry exam so thank you so much and I wish that
09:55
you all will come out with the flying colors so wish you all the best.
