00:00But how do you think the quarterback situation is going to play out in Pittsburgh?

00:06So that one there, look, I've been on record and we'll see what happens.

00:09I would be very surprised if Russell Wilson comes back.

00:12I know it's not impossible.

00:14I know there's some people that Steelers would like to see him back.

00:16I think there's some coaches who were hoping to bench him last season, but were overruled

00:20as I understand it.

00:21So I think it's a mixed bag and they're very intrigued with Justin Fields, who never really

00:26got a shot.

00:27Yes, he got hurt.

00:28He had a couple of minor injuries, but he's clearly healthy late in the season.

00:32And you and I talked about this.

00:34I don't know why they didn't bench.

00:37I know why, because they wanted to go with Russell Wilson's experience.

00:40But they should have given Fields a shot at that point.

00:42What did they have to lose?

00:43In fact, remember, you and I talked about that in that game against the Chiefs.

00:48What do you have to lose when it's not going well?

00:51Put the young kid in who's got a great arm, much better athlete, get a better evaluation

00:55on him, but they decide not to do that.

00:57That was a mistake.

00:59Russell Wilson is a well below average quarterback at this point.

01:01He's barely hanging on.

01:02It is mid-30s.

01:05They have to do better.

01:06That position is completely holding them back.

01:08I know they're very excited about getting a couple of guys back on their offensive line.

01:11Their offensive line is going to be good.

01:12You know the defense is going to be good.

01:14But you can't win in the National Football League when you don't have an answer at quarterback.

01:19And right now, they don't have one.

01:21Is Pete Carroll going to bring him to Vegas?

01:25He was asked that, by the way.

01:28He said they haven't even talked about it.

01:31Pete squashed, let Russ cook in 2020.

01:33In fact, when you and I were working together in sports grid, I'm going back five years

01:36now.

01:37It was the 2020 season.

01:38Right.

01:39Pete put the kibosh on the pass again with Brian Schottenheimer.

01:44Russ was incredible that season.

01:45He had 28 passing touchdowns in eight games.

01:48I know Pete and Russell had issues there that season.

01:52I'd be surprised if Russ went with the Raiders.

01:55The Raiders, by the way, we'll talk more about the quarterback situation around the league

01:59because we'll take a look at my first edition, my mock draft.

02:02But man, the Raiders may not get one.

02:04They may have to trade up.

02:06They're another team.

02:07They've got a couple of quality backups, but they're another team that does not know who

02:10their starting quarterback is going to be going forward.
