00:18journey from tragedy to triumph.

00:27The state-of-the-art Benjamin Romualdo International Convention Center, to be built inside the

00:31former Lady Park complex, is to become Tacloban's architectural landmark, which will celebrate

00:36Leyte's rich history and culture.

00:38Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdo led the groundbreaking ceremony of this facility,

00:42named after his father, former Lady Governor Benjamin Cocco Romualdo, saying the soon-to-rise

00:48world-class structure will be a tribute to a resilient people who rose together after

00:53the Super Typhoon Yolanda devastated the city 10 years ago.

01:08To be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways, the three-story facility

01:13will be built on a P750 million budget and will be carried out in two phases in a three-year

01:19period.

01:20SBWA's Regional Office 8, as earlier named, the soon-to-rise International Convention

01:25Center as one of their high-impact projects.

01:28The facility's ground area will offer amenities such as a retail concourse, food and beverage

01:33services area, lounges, large parking spaces and other utilities.

01:38The structure will rise within the 6.1-hectare complex of the abandoned Leyte Park Resort

01:43Hotel, which was built 45 years ago by then First Lady Imelda Romualdo Marcos.
