00:00The first stations which will be operated on this new line is four stations, starting

00:16from Jabal Ali station towards Gardens and then Discovery Gardens and Al Furjan.

00:22Three more stations on the line which will be announced by RTA when the operation will

00:30start later on.

00:32Of course, the full operation of the line will be before the Expo launch in October.

00:38There are some improvements that have been done in the interior design as well as the

00:44distribution of the seats within the train to accommodate mainly more people in the trains.

00:51So we used to have the previous trains with a capacity of 643 passengers.

00:56Now we can have 699 passengers in each train.

01:01We have improved the interior design by adding some digital screens, maps for example, within

01:09the train.

01:10This will help people to interact with the destinations they are aiming for in a better way.

01:17During the design stage, we have looked into the best practice and what is the latest technology

01:23and how we can design and build our station based on the best practice and best technology.

01:28So one of the important things now in any country or any project that you build is the

01:34energy, how you are optimising the energy.

01:37So there is a LEED certificate.

01:39So this whole Route 2020 or Expo line has been designed to be Gold LEED certified.

01:45In the design, we have considered the Gold LEED certification and this is one of the

01:50stations, the first metro station in the world that got Gold LEED certification.

01:55In the whole design of the station, the lighting from outside, how you can optimise the using

02:01of the energy in the station, the escalator, the travelator, the lifts, the lighting inside

02:07all these glasses, how you can optimise.

02:10So all of these, and also we have another thing which is the consumption of the power

02:14on the train, how we also put something to optimise the energy that used to be wasted energy.

02:21Now it's not wasted, we can use it or utilise it in order to use that train power which

02:27was not used.

02:28Now we optimise it and we are using it for the same station or for the train itself.

02:33This is the new generation of the Dream Gates, we call it for the AFC.

02:37We developed these gates based on the best practices and lessons learned from our existing

02:42AFC gates.

02:43These gates use new technology which is called 3D cameras to detect the objects of the passengers,

02:49how they are moving inside or outside.

02:51It has LED lights so it will give a better image for the customer which gate they can

02:57use and they will take a proper decision in advance before they enter the station.

03:01Expo station is one of our iconic stations.

03:05It's totally different than other stations in the whole Dubai metro networks.

03:09The theme used here for interior design is the future.

03:13All the design, the future, it's abstracted from the future thinking to match the theme,

03:20one of the themes in Dubai Expo 2020.

03:23The total area of this station is 18,800 square metres, capacity of 29,000 passengers

03:31per hour.

03:32It means total 522,000 passengers every day.

03:37It has a large capacity to accommodate the demand on Dubai Expo using this station which

03:44we expect that the number of visitors using this station during the weekdays for Expo

03:51Dubai Dubai reaches to 35,000 visitors through Dubai Metro and on the weekends more than

03:5947,000 passengers a day.

04:03So this means 29% of the total visitors coming to Expo site.
