00:00The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group insisted on filing a case against former President Rodrigo Duterte

00:07in connection with his statement that he killed his son-in-law against an incumbent Senate horse.

00:12This is what Ryan Leziguez reported.

00:17The CIDG Director of Police Major General Nicolás Torre III,

00:22who has a guilty conscience and no one ordered him to file a case against former President Rodrigo Duterte,

00:29told Torre that he did it as a Filipino, a police officer and has nothing to do with politics.

00:35Yesterday, Torre formally filed a case against Duterte in the Department of Justice

00:39for inciting sedition and unlawful utterance.

00:42This is in connection with his statement that he killed his son-in-law against incumbent Senators.

00:47We saw that the element of violating the law is in what he said, in what he did.

00:55The official explained that it's not good to use foul language,

00:59he will say it's just a joke.

01:01Former President Duterte could take it seriously,

01:05just like his declaration in the War on Drugs.

01:08That's why we will not take it seriously by other countries and by other people

01:12if our policy is like normalizing violence and violating the law.

01:17That's not allowed.

01:19The CIDG did not allow the public to respect the legal process

01:23to avoid speculation that it could be the reason for violence.

01:28The CIDG insisted on transparency and impartiality in handling complaints.

01:34You know, the law applies to all equally.

01:38It's up to them if they still want to do those things.

01:43They saw that it's a violation of the law.

01:45We are saying that it's a violation of the law.

01:47It should not be done.

01:49Torrey also insisted that he will stand until the end of his case against the former president.
