Government agencies will be allowed to share data from this coming Thursday (Feb 20), says Gobind Singh Deo. 00:00Data is a very valuable asset in this digital era.

00:06By developing the latest technology,

00:09such as artificial intelligence or AI,

00:13and machine learning,

00:15the amount of data that is stored,

01:02of RM114.7 billion from 2021 to 2023,

01:26it is important for the government

01:28to strengthen the state data management

01:32and the Ministry of Digital is investigating

01:35to establish a digital trust

01:38and data security commission

01:40which will be responsible

01:42to monitor the safety base

01:45and also the data management in this country

01:47to ensure that the state data management

01:50is more organized and safer.

01:53Ladies and gentlemen,

01:54the Ministry has also developed several amendments

01:57and this is intended to strengthen

01:59the regulatory landscape of digital and state data

02:03from the aspect of data security,

02:05from the aspect of data protection,

02:07from the aspect of data innovation

02:08and also data storage.

02:10Which of these are as follows?

02:13First, we have approved and passed

02:16the Cyber Security Act last year

02:19in March.

02:21Then we have the Personal Data Protection Act

02:23which was moved last year.

02:26Third, we have the Data Sharing Law

02:29which has been passed at the end of last year

02:33and we expect it will be implemented

02:35on the 20th of February this year.

02:38And then the fourth,

02:40the State Public Computing Basis

02:42which will be implemented in the second quarter of this year.

02:46In this regard,

02:47the mechanism of strengthening the region

02:49will also be considered.
