Trump says he could meet 'very soon' on Ukraine, says Putin wants to 'stop fighting'  US President Donald Trump said on Sunday, February 16, he believes he could meet "very soon" with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.  Speaking to reporters, Trump said he was working hard to achieve peace, and said he believes both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy want to stop fighting.  His comments come as the United States and Russia are preparing for initial talks in Saudi Arabia in the coming days. 01:44What do you think he wants in terms of that?

01:45No, I think he wants to stop.

01:46That was my question to him.

01:49Because if he's going to go on, that would have been a big problem for us, and that would

01:53have caused me a big problem, because you just can't let that happen.

01:56I think he wants to end it, and they want to end it fast, both of them.

02:03And Zelensky wants to end it, too.

02:05Can you comment on your timing of your meeting with Putin in Saudi Arabia?

02:09No, no time set, but it could be very soon.

02:12Like this month?

02:13Well, it'll be soon.

02:14We'll see what happens, but they're meeting right now, and that's more.

02:19I mean, this should have been done four years ago, three years ago, before it started.

02:22But it should have been done immediately after it started, as opposed to now, three

02:27years later.
