00:00A male member of the NPA and facing a series of cases of murder and robbery was arrested in Rizal.

00:07We have an exclusive report from Isaiah Mirapuentes.

00:14The police followed this place in Rodriguez, Rizal.

00:18They arrested a man who is on the most wanted list of the province of Rizal

00:23and a member of the NPA or New People's Army.

00:27He is facing a series of cases of murder and robbery.

00:31He was with us during the 2009 ambush here in Macabud, Barangay Macabud in 2009.

00:43And he was also with us during the 2010 anti-polo encounter where four SOPs were killed.

00:54The suspect has been wanted by the police for a long time.

00:57But they were able to catch him because he lived in the mountains with the NPA.

01:02According to the police, the suspect tried to escape from the rebels.

01:07He attempted to surrender five years ago, in 2020.

01:12He attempted to surrender but when the Philippine Army was still here in Montalban,

01:19he was not processed.

01:22The suspect is currently facing six cases.

01:25Four counts of robbery and two counts of murder.

01:28But there are still 20 cases that the suspect could be charged with.

01:33The suspect admitted that he was a member of a left-wing group.

01:37But he denied that he was involved in the crime.

01:49He also admitted that he will not help the police to catch the other members of the NPA.
