Emirates' inaugural Dubai to Montréal flight takes off

Emirates’ first flight from Dubai to Montreal took off at 3 am on Wednesday after an impressive ceremony at the Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport.  Montreal, Quebec province’s cultural capital, becomes Emirates’ second gateway in Canada, complementing its passenger services to Toronto, which have been operating to Ontario’s capital city since 2007. 00:08opened any new destination in Canada. So this is the second airport in Canada which is so

00:14important for us because of Canadian passengers coming from Canada to Dubai and they have 58

00:21destinations beyond Dubai. So that's why it's so important for us and this is going to be a daily

00:27flight from Dubai to Montreal, Montreal to Dubai. I'm very happy to be here this evening to be part

00:33of this inaugural flight from Dubai to Montreal by Emirates. This is a great opportunity, this

00:42pairing of two of the most exciting cities in the world. I am convinced that there will be tremendous

00:50growth that comes from this. People-to-people ties drive business and trade and investment

00:57and we look forward to seeing the products of this over the next months and years.

01:04The Emirates brand of excellence is I think going to make a tremendous impact in the Montreal market.

01:11It's clear that people are interested in this flight given what I understand to be a very very

01:18high sellout rate for this flight. I think that this is a major opportunity for the two countries

01:25to get to know each other in a different way. People of course know Toronto because they've

01:30been traveling to Toronto for years. Now they'll have a chance to get to know Montreal

01:35which is a tremendously exciting and important cultural and business center on its own.
