The WHO and the International Diabetic Federation this time showed by 2020, at present we have

This study was conducted among an age group of 20 to 79 years old.

My name is Delilah, I'm 49 years old, I'm from India and I'm a banker.
01:07
I had typical symptoms of diabetes, my body was worn out for the last couple of months
01:13
and I was feeling extremely lethargic with sudden weight loss.
01:16
Not to forget the frequency of water intake and the urge to urinate increased significantly.
01:22
I was diagnosed with diabetes on November 16th clinically but before that some of my
01:27
friends gave me a heads up by looking at my falling health because I have a strong sweet tooth.
01:33
What is the reason behind this increase in diabetes among the UAE citizens or the expats?
01:42
The study shows one of the risk factors are age more than or equal to 35 years, a BMI
01:48
of more than or equal to 30 that is suggesting an obesity, a waist hip ratio among men to
01:56
be a 0.90 and among females more than 0.85.
02:01
Other cause could be sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy food habits.
02:06
What are the complications?
02:07
The complications could be microvascular affecting the small vessel diseases and a
02:12

02:17
A small vessel diseases consist of affecting your eyes, what we call as diabetic retinopathy

If you do not control initially you will land up with progression of the diseases.
02:59
You can lead to dementia, Alzheimer's etc.

Hydration by itself will help in decreasing your blood sugars.
03:26
After consulting Dr. Shafiq my lifestyle and routine took a 360 degree turn and I had to
03:31
immediately cut down on carbs in all forms to bring the sugar levels to an acceptable
03:36
mark.
03:37
I was advised to have 5 meals a day in small portions and dinner cannot be after 7.30pm.
03:43
30 minutes walk or light workout and doctor visits are very essential.
03:47
I have been taking the advices very seriously provided by Dr. Shafiq and ensuring that I
03:52
do not miss on my food and medicine intake as advised.

I generally never google any diseases but follow whatever Dr. Shafiq tells me.
