Dubai's RailBus

As a first and last mile solution, RailBus — that was unveiled at the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 on Monday – will have multiple stations/ hubs in densely populated communities across Dubai, a senior Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) official told Khaleej Times.

00:00Railbus is the idea of RTA in order to develop a new transportation system that can accommodate

00:13the needs of people.

00:14We are combining the best of what we have on rail with the best of what we have on buses.

00:20This will help to reach the end destination of people.

00:23It can enter the areas where we have tight corridors where the existing metro cannot

00:27reach.

00:28The goal is behind building a new technology which is consistent and depending on the solar

00:33system.

00:34It can accommodate up to 40 people, it can reach the speed of 100 km per hour, as well

00:40as it is being built by reusable material and it is being printed by 3D printing.

00:46From this we are trying to support the initiative and strategy of transferring 25% of total

00:52trips into autonomous trips.

00:54As well as it supports the strategy of having by 2050 a transportation system with zero

01:01emissions that accommodates as well the strategy of the United Arab Emirates of zero emissions

01:07of CO2 by 2050.
