Nanny Laura Amies on her toddler survival guide

Doncaster-based Laura Amies talks us through her new book The Toddler Survival Guide: Child behaviour secrets from a professional nanny.

00:00Would you like to better understand your toddler and therefore find their toddlerhood easier?

00:04About time we spoke about not just surviving toddlerhood but thriving during toddlerhood.

00:09As we know, toddlerhood is a very challenging aspect of parenting,

00:13so I have written something to help.

00:15There are 13 chapters all together, each one covering a really vital part of toddlerhood,

00:22and within each of these chapters there are two stories, essentially a positive and a negative.

00:27There are stories which explain, perhaps, things to avoid,

00:31things that I've done, which I don't recommend you doing,

00:33things that I've witnessed parents doing, which I don't recommend you doing,

00:37and then the opposite, things where, you know, a certain technique has worked brilliantly,

00:42or there's been a moment of development which has made you think,

00:46oh gosh, that's why they do that.

00:48Essentially there's two sides of the coin in each chapter,

00:51and then in amongst the stories there are tips, tricks, words of wisdom,

00:56all sorts to help you understand your toddler.
