National Railway Museum: A day out at the 'best place for couples'

According to TripAdvisor, this is apparently the best place for couples in Yorkshire. Our reporter Sophie Mei Lan took her husband for a date day.

00:00The best place as a couple to go in Yorkshire with Valentine's Day, February being month of

00:06love and all that, we're here at the National Railway Museum, voted one of the best places

00:12for couples. People all over Yorkshire join hands start a love train, love train, here at the

00:19Railway Museum which is free to enter and it's also celebrating its 50th anniversary and it's

00:27part of Railway 200, celebrating 200 years since the birth of modern railway. We took a look around

00:35the Great Hall where you get underneath the trains, you can get on the Shinkansen or just

00:41worm your way around the exhibition. It were ideal for groups of people as well as families,

00:48although little ones have got to be careful they don't climb on everything. There is also a play

00:54for kids to play. My husband who's a bit older found himself lusting over the locomotives,

01:01I however thought it was incredible but I wasn't sure how it was the ideal place for couples.

01:07Now if we could have jumped on this buffet cart that might have sealed the deal. There's loads of

01:13memorabilia on display and it really is an epic place just to have a quick look around.

01:21A hot date, a pot of tea and a slice of lemon drizzle, this is date Yorkshire style.

01:28You do pay for food and drink and there's a gift shop and don't forget it is a charity so they

01:33really do appreciate donations. We also paid £10 to park his car all day in their car park.

01:40To make a romantic date day of it what I would do is after looking around the museum jump aboard

01:47their land train where you can head into the centre of York and you can experience the York

01:53Minster, the Guy Fawkes Inn, the Shambles and all of York's delights. Now that is romantic.
