00:07representatives to the Federal National Council.
00:10The FNC is the UAE's advisory council.
00:13There were a total of 479 candidates vying for a seat in the council.
00:18There are a total of 40 members of the FNC.
00:2120 seats will be elected by the Electoral College, which has more than 330,000 members,
00:26while the remaining 20 seats will be appointed by the different emirates.
00:30Hopefully the winners and who will be our colleagues who will work with us under the
00:37parliament dome, those who will be raising all those issues, but again, it's at the end
00:43of the day, a similar issue, what will help the emirates to be in a better situation.
00:50It's always what is close to our nationals and inshallah what will help developing a
00:55better emirates for everyone.
00:57What's important for us in the UAE here and for the nation of the UAE is that we choose
01:01our candidate based on the priority in the agendas and subject that has been presented,
01:07whether it is on the economy or it is on the environment, it could be political or it could
01:13be social.
01:14And of course through that we are able to identify through the government also what
01:18are the priorities of our nationals and maybe we can address them also at a higher level
01:23eventually.
01:24This year's FNC elections is the fourth in the nation's history.
01:27A total of 39 polling stations were spread across the UAE.
01:31The 40-member FNC is composed of eight members from Abu Dhabi and Dubai, six from Sharjah
01:36and Ras Al Khaimah, and four from Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.
01:41At the Dubai World Trade Center, voters said they were happy with the smooth and ultra-modern
01:46voting process.
01:48This is smooth, safety, very nice, very luxury.
01:54Time-wise, it's very important.
01:57The most important thing is the time.
02:00One minute, I finish.
02:01The experience was very good.
02:02The process was very easy.
02:05You don't see crowded here because, as I said, actually the process is lean and, you
02:11know, the flow is fast and the number of stations is high.
02:14So people who come actually, they can finish and go very quickly.
02:21The election's preliminary results will be announced right after the polling centers
02:25are closed.
02:26The National Election Committee will approve the final list of winners on October 13.
