Former Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn has been granted bail set at 4.5 million dollars by a Tokyo
00:08
court today. It will be the second time that Ghosn has been granted bail, the first time
00:13
he was released and then re-arrested on fresh charges earlier in April. Ghosn, who denies
00:19
any wrongdoing, is currently facing four charges in Japan over allegations of financial misconduct
00:24
and fraud. As part of the previous bail conditions, a 24-hour surveillance camera was placed at
00:31
the entrance to Ghosn's court-approved permanent residence. In other news, after entering merger
00:36
talks just last month, Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank, two of the largest lenders in Germany, have
00:41
abandoned merger talks today. They say that the deal would have been too risky and not
00:46
generating enough sufficient returns to justify the deal's costs. The German government had
00:52
been championing the deal, with reports suggesting that Germany's finance minister wanted a
00:56
national champion in the banking industry. And lastly, DXB Entertainment, the operator
01:02
of Dubai Parks and Resorts, has said that it has cancelled officially now the opening
01:07
of the Six Flags theme park. The theme park, an export from America, was originally intended
01:12
to have one of the world's largest roller coasters. Construction began in 2016 and was
01:17
expected to complete in 2019. The company raised around $2 billion to finance the project.
01:23
In a statement on the Dubai financial market, DXB Entertainment said it was no longer in
01:27
the best interests of the company to pursue the project and had therefore cancelled it.
