Expo 2020 Visitor Centre open to students

The expo 2020 Visitor Centre is now open to students across the UAE and offers a variety of engaging and educational experiences.

00:09of engaging and educational experiences.

00:12Students learn about World Expos, Expo 2020 Dubai, the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai for

00:17the UAE and for the region.

00:19They also learn about sub-themes, our sub-themes which are opportunity, mobility and sustainability

00:24and then they also have an opportunity to be part of a workshop.

00:27So in this workshop we look into topics or sub-themes which are sub-themes at Expo 2020

00:33but we do that in a manner that is very much fun, exciting and easy for students to understand.

00:41Upon entering, the students will be ushered through an educational tunnel-like structure

00:45designed to increase the students' knowledge about the history of the region and the importance

00:48of Expo to both the UAE and the world.

00:52From there, students can visit the rest of the first floor which exhibits the principles

00:55of the UAE's Expo 2020 theme, Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, as well as its

01:00sub-themes, Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.

01:04So I'm here to see what's going to be in the actual Expo 2020 like what are the three pillars

01:11going to be about.

01:12I learned that they're going to be about the sustainability, about the mobility and opportunities.

01:19Now this Expo is really important because it's about bringing people together because

01:24when we're together we can make the future which is basically what the Expo is about.

01:30Students will also have the chance to watch an incredible fly-through film in a special

01:34room with a huge curved screen, sort of like a mini IMAX set-up in which the audience will

01:39feel as though they're actually in the movie.

01:41After exploring all the areas scattered around the first floor, the students can head upstairs

01:45to take part in educational activities like arts and crafts and a special tinkering room

01:49which is really interesting as these students were creating a special track with different

01:53colored markers that will guide an automated ball-shaped robot around and stop, change

01:57direction or keep on going depending on the color used.

02:01The Expo 2020 Visitor Center and indeed Expo 2020 itself offers a very unique and special

02:06chance for students to really broaden their knowledge of the world and its different customs

02:10and cultures, as well as showing the world the customs and culture of the UAE.

02:14We had a great exposure to Expo 2020, it was a great experience because I didn't have this

02:19great exposure before.

02:20We learned about many different things, we learned about sustainability, we learned about

02:24mobility, we learned about opportunities and we learned the sectors of Expo 2020 and what

02:30exactly actually Expo 2020 looks like and it was really fun, we had a lot of fun and

02:37the session is still going on and I'm looking forward to more opportunities like this.

02:41The Visitor Center, curated as part of the Expo school program, has already attracted

02:45its substantial interest from across the UAE and has welcomed more than 1,000 public

02:50and private school students during its soft opening.
