00:00Welcome to Ilang Kongresista, the recommendation of the NBI to file a case against Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:08This is Mela Lesmoras.

00:12In confidence of the congressmen who rose up in the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte,

00:18whose position is even stronger,

00:20the National Bureau of Investigation has now recommended filing a case against the Vice President

00:27because of her leadership in the life of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.,

00:31First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

00:35According to House Assistant Majority Leader Jill Bongalon,

00:39who is also part of the House Prosecution Panel,

00:41this proves that VP Sara has done something wrong.

00:45This is a positive development, especially in relation to the impeachment case filed against the Vice President.

00:52So it would really strengthen our position that indeed the Vice President committed criminal acts.

01:00According to House Deputy Majority Leader Paulo Ortega and Assistant Majority Leader Ernest Junisio,

01:07there is more evidence in the case.

01:10I don't know how they can deny it because I saw it live on video.

01:17So we can see that the Vice President has done something wrong.

01:23Kudos to NBI. We salute you in doing your job.

01:27We hope that we get to the bottom of this.

01:30To the men and women of NBI, we salute you.

01:33House Deputy Minority Leader Franz Castro also supported the NBI's move

01:38despite her request for the case to continue against the Vice President,

01:43unlike what happened to her.

01:46If we can remember, in October of last year,

01:50there was a threat to my life on national TV, social media,

01:57former President Duterte.

02:02So I filed a case against him.

02:06But it was dismissed in the lower court.

02:10So we filed a case for review.

02:12House Assistant Majority Leader Jude Acidre reminded the Senate

02:17that the impeachment trial should not be delayed because the issue has an effect on the President's safety.

02:25If we continue to delay justice, we may be placing our commander-in-chief in serious danger.

02:31A lot can happen within five months of the Senate trial.

02:36Let's not be naive.

02:38Every day that this trial is delayed, there is a threat to our President's life.
