00:00Learning a new language is a nice way to intellectual self-improvement, much like picking up on

00:24crochet, embroidery, or strumming a guitar. But for people working in Global Village,

00:30it's not just a genteel indulgence, but a skill to help them do their job better.

00:54I speak Arabic, Urdu, and a little bit of English as well. I've learned a little bit of Hindi and Arabic.

03:20Every time I talk Malayalam, the people also smile at me,

03:26and then I can get more friends.

03:28We can attract people, high sales.

03:31When I came to Global Village for jobs,

03:34I didn't know English.

03:36My words were very, very simple,

03:39and I had problems with conversations with customers

03:42because it was really difficult.

03:45I started to understand.

03:47It was easy work because many people speak only English.

03:52Sometimes I have a customer who doesn't speak English,

03:56and it was difficult because I didn't understand Arabic,

04:01but I also started to understand Arabic.

04:55From this language, my English is getting better,

05:00and I learned Hindi and Russian.

05:03And when there are customers coming,

05:05Indian customers coming to here,

05:07they teach me some words.

05:09For example, when they are coming here,

05:11they say, before I went,

05:13I didn't know what's the name of the honey in Hindi.

05:16And they are telling me the name is Shahad.

05:22How are you? It means, how are you?

05:25How are you coming to here?

05:27Where are you going?

05:28New language, it's very good for sales.

05:32Because some customers, they are coming here,

05:34they cannot speak English.

05:36So if I teach some words, I can connect with them.

05:40There can be no better platform than the Global Village

05:43to learn a new language.

05:47with people from different cultures and backgrounds

05:49descending and interacting with each other.
