00:09The UAE marked commemoration day today to honor the legacy of Emirati heroes who have

00:13given their lives for the country on battlefields and on civilian fields.

00:18At 11.30am, the entire nation stood united in a moment of silent prayer and respect and

00:25commemoration for its fallen heroes.

00:28Across the UAE, flags were flown at half-mast from 8am and raised again at 11.31am.

00:35The UN envoy for Yemen has criticized the decision by Al-Houthi rebels to set up a government

00:41in areas they control, calling it a threat to peace efforts in the country.

00:46The announcement by the Iran-backed rebels on Monday represents a new and concerning

00:52obstacle to the peace process, Ismail Oudh Sheikh Ahmed said in a statement.

00:58The Yemeni people have suffered for far too long and their leaders should commit to restore

01:03peace and security to their country without further delay, the envoy said.

01:08The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting today on the dire humanitarian crisis

01:14unfolding in Aleppo, diplomats said.

01:17The 15 ambassadors of the Security Council will get a briefing on the situation in Aleppo

01:22by the UN mediator in Syria, Staffan de Mistura.

01:27In East Aleppo, thousands of civilians have fled the fighting and bombings as the Syrian

01:31government forces advanced against parts of the rebel-held areas.

01:36Donald Trump dined Tuesday at Jean Georges, one of New York's swankiest restaurants, with

01:42Mitt Romney.

01:43The choice of the restaurant, popular with New York high society, was the clearest indication

01:48yet that Trump may select once-bitter foe Romney as his chief diplomat.

01:54After the dinner, Romney offered words of praise for Trump that contrasted sharply with

02:00his past criticisms.

02:02Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn made history as the teenage striker became the club's youngest

02:08ever goal-scorer in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Leeds in the League Cup quarter-finals.

02:14Aged 17 years and 45 days, Woodburn fired in the 81st minute at Anfield to eclipse the

02:21previous record set by Michael Owen, who was 17 years and 143 days old when he scored

02:28against Wimbledon in May 1997.

02:32Woodburn only made his senior debut for Liverpool on Saturday as a late substitute in a Premier

02:38League win over Sunderland.

02:40A film about the first and only time the UAE qualified for the FIFA World Cup will release

02:46in time for National Day on December 1 across the Emirates.

02:50Called Lights of Rome, the documentary first screened at New York's DOC NYC festival last

02:57week.

02:58The film features current coach Mahadi Ali and his 25-year-old star player Omar Abdulrahman.
