00:00Fans screamed, shrieked and cried as they gathered at a mall in Dubai for a rare chance

00:11to meet the reigning Miss Universe Pia Alonso-Wurzbach.

00:15Men and women, young and old alike, came in throngs for an engagement with the 27-year-old

00:20Wurzbach, who shared fashion and beauty tips in a free-to-attend event at Dragon Mark II

00:25on Friday evening.

00:26For fashion and beauty, I don't think you have to overthink it.

00:31Sometimes we think that the more expensive brands will be effective or, you know, overdoing

00:37it, overdoing the makeup, overdoing the fashion.

00:41But sometimes if you stick to the basics, that's what really matters and that's what

00:47I do.

00:48Aside from tips on pulling off a Miss Universe walk and becoming a beauty queen, Wurzbach

00:53also talked about cyberbullying and her advocacy on HIV awareness.

00:57She also obliged selfies with fans, especially children, whom she encouraged to never give

01:02up on their dreams.

01:03Many came fully prepared for the event, some wearing a Miss Universe sash to emulate their

01:08idol.

01:09Some lucky ones were given a chance to meet and greet the reigning Miss Universe, but

01:13others could only cry and wave from afar.

01:16As her journey as Miss Universe is about to end soon, Wurzbach said her life has changed

01:20a lot in a positive way.

01:22She said she will continue with her advocacies and continue to be an inspiration to others.

01:29There's really a lot of lessons that I learned from being Miss Universe.

01:33I mean, I can't, I don't even know where to begin.

01:38Just being able to travel a lot and meet people from different walks of life.

01:45I don't think I've experienced anything like it or I would experience anything like it.

01:53When they say that a girl's life is about to change tonight, during the pageant, it's

01:57true.

01:58Because my life really did change that night.
