The new City Centre Al Shindagha is situated in on of Dubai's most historical areas and aims to merge a traditional trading hub with a modern retail experience. At 24,000 square meters over two levels, the mall will play host to 75 retail outlets including a Carrefour Hypermarket various fashion and accessory outlets and a seven screen VOX cinema multiplex. 00:10East and North Africa, celebrated the grand opening of City Centre Al Shindaga today.

00:15The new mall looks to cater to the needs of the residents, tourists and professionals

00:19who live, visit and work in the area.

00:21At 24,000 square metres over two levels, the mall will play host to 75 retail outlets including

00:27a Carrefour hypermarket, various fashion and accessory outlets, and a seven-screen

00:31box cinema.

00:33City Centre Al Shindaga is Majid Al Futtaim's third major project to launch in the UAE within

00:38the past six months, following the opening of City Centre Ma'asem and the successful

00:42launch of the Evolution expansion at the Mall of the Emirates.

00:45We've seen a need in this area.

00:47The Shindaga area is known for its historical background and it's a dense area from a

00:56population point of view.

00:57So there's a lot of people living here, a lot of tourists coming to this area, a lot

01:02of offices based here, and we've seen a need for a mall like this in this area.

01:07The opening of this new Shindaga City Centre represents a merging of a traditional trading

01:11hub with the modern conveniences of contemporary shopping malls, and hopes to fulfil the retail

01:16and entertainment needs of its neighbours, as well as create employment opportunities

01:20and demonstrate the long-term viability of the Middle East's retail sector.
