00:10A strong earthquake shook Nepal today, sending people in Kathmandu rushing out onto the streets

00:15weeks after a devastating quake killed more than 8,000 people. The US Geological Survey

00:20said the quake had a magnitude of 7.1 and struck 68 km west of Namche Bazaar, close

00:26to Mount Everest. Shock waves were felt as far away as the Indian capital New Delhi

00:31and throughout northern India.

00:34Radars across the streets of Dubai will soon begin catching tailgaters, a top official

00:38has said. The new device, called Al-Burj radars, will record motorists who fail to keep a safe

00:43distance between other vehicles in the same manner they record speed violations, said

00:47Dubai Police Chief Major General Qamish Al-Mazaina.

00:51A blogger was hacked to death by magic-wielding attackers in Bangladesh today, the third killing

00:56of a critic of extremism in the nation in less than three months. Ananta Bijoy Das,

01:01a 33-year-old banker who blogged on secularism, was attacked by four assailants this morning,

01:06police officials said.

01:08In sport, Kevin Peterson was told by New England chief Andrew Strauss he will not play for

01:12his country again, just hours after blasting a career-best 3.26 not out.

01:18The exiled batsman surpassed his previous first-class best of 2.54 in a mammoth innings

01:23for Surrey at the Oval. But according to the BBC, Strauss met Peterson and confirmed

01:32Tom Hanks' next film, about a Google-like internet monopoly that renders privacy obsolete,

01:37will be financed by Abu Dhabi's Image Nation. It was announced in Cannes ahead of the film

01:42festival starting there on Wednesday.

01:44The adaptation of Dave Eggers' novel The Circle has been written and will be directed by James

01:49Ponceau and is being produced by Hanks, among others. It also stars Alicia Vikander, while

01:54shooting will start in August in California.
