00:00B-boying, also called breakdancing or breaking, was launched late 1970 in the Bronx region

00:19in New York City and is considered a main element of hip-hop culture.

00:23The term B-boying refers to a method of dancing, moving and lifestyle and has become a respected

00:28discipline around the world.

00:30Over the last five years, the B-boy scene in the Middle East has hugely evolved and

00:34many of the best breakdancers in the world have come to the UAE to give workshops for

00:37the increasingly skilled local B-boy community.

00:40It's all about expressing your feelings, how you're feeling in the dance form, like you

00:45know, throwing, busting your moods and expressing your moods in your dancing.

00:50No fight, no grief against anyone, you battle, you fight, that's your fight, just dance.

00:5816 B-boys made it to this stage in the competition and left everything they had on the floor

01:05in their attempts to win the coveted spot in the regionals which takes place this September

01:09in Algeria.

01:14But when the dust settled it was B-boy Peppa, a Moroccan breaker with his incredible flowing

01:18maneuvers and undeniable Middle Eastern flavor, who was able to edge out Raf H in a hotly

01:22contested final which had the crowd on their feet cheering wildly when two out of the three

01:26international judges vouched for him.

01:29And if the reaction of the fans and judges after the amazing performances is any indication,

01:33the UAE will be well represented in Algeria for the regional finals.
