00:00The idea is not to create, if it happens, it's not chemistry, you're in a relationship

00:20in the film.

00:21As in in this film especially, we're supposed to be a couple that's dating and we have a

00:25living relationship and we want to get married.

00:27I think film making is the biggest lie in the world, you're supposed to convince audiences

00:29about a lot of things.

00:30You have to try and be as natural and as normal as possible, don't try and force it, I think

00:34what happens, happens naturally and the audiences are a better case than us knowing what we're

00:38doing.

00:39We should just follow impulse.

00:40Obviously we were doing, whatever chemistry, whatever we had, it was out of the characters.

00:45Me being Ananya and him being Krish.

00:47Even when we were talking to each other, chilling, hanging out, kissing, whatever it is, we were

00:55doing it as those two characters, not as Arjun and Ananya.

01:01Epic romance or not, I think just spending time with the person, you do feel an attraction,

01:06it's normal.

01:07Yeah, I mean that you can't hide.

01:08But it doesn't have to always lead into being something.

01:11You're a boy, she's a girl, there is attraction and you use that as an actor to play the characters

01:17also.

01:21I don't know if I'm natural or not, for me not reading the book came from my director

01:24allowing me not to do that.

01:26I had every intention to read it.

01:27When I told him I've not read it after reading the script, I was offered the film, so I read

01:30the script first.

01:31He said, okay, since you've not read it, don't read it.

01:33Use your own headspace that you've correlated with Krish and try and find something new.

01:38Look at it from a new perspective that maybe Chetan and me have never looked at Krish from

01:42and see where it goes and I'll correct you if you're going haywire.

01:45So, that was my confidence that I got from my director and knowing that the material

01:48is strong enough for me to understand the character without going back into the book.

01:51The toughest thing for me, like I said, he's a very controlled character, so you will not

01:55see him doing irrational, stupid things.

01:59But when she comes into his life, he does all the irrational, stupid things without

02:03even realising.

02:04I guess, yeah, that was for me difficult to be normal and still play that little boy who's

02:09falling in love and not realising it.

02:11That was for me an interesting bit in the film that comes.

02:13It's a very small chunk in the film, but that was very interesting for me to do as an actor.

02:16I never look at things as difficult for me.

02:18Yeah, exactly.

02:19I agree.

02:20I don't know about difficult, but I obviously look for a challenge in each film, otherwise

02:24it becomes boring, you know, and you tend to not give in properly, that extra effort.

02:28For me, the challenge was to be a little ahead mentally, more mature as a human being and

02:34as a girl.

02:35Ananya's character, she's very fiery, very spunky, but she's very mature and she's very

02:38level-headed.

02:39And for me to speak like her, but at the same time have energy, but not in an obvious way,

02:45was something that I...

02:46I mean, I remember every time Abhishek would come to me, I'll have energy.

02:50Just don't forget the energy.

02:51And energy does not necessarily mean me speaking fast, which I tend to do.

02:55I had to speak coherently, which he helped me with.

02:58And having...

02:59But still that, you know, that kind of spunk in the eye, that little sparkle and twinkle,

03:03which had to constantly be there.

03:08If anybody has that answer, please give it to us.

03:10Yeah, we really don't know.

03:11What makes a perfect love story?

03:15To each their own.

03:16I think the imperfection is the best part of a love story.

03:19The problems and the obstacles and the ups and downs.

03:22No relationship is going to be hunky-dory.

03:24There is no happily ever after in life, no?

03:26There's a happily ever after till you go to sleep.

03:28Next morning you wake up, there's life to continue.
