00:12A new law providing mandatory health insurance cover for all Dubai residents is now in force,

00:17with Rashid Hospital beginning to accept insurance cards from expatriates.

00:21A senior Dubai Health Authority official said that the cards are accepted at the hospital's

00:25emergency section as a part of the first phase of the insurance scheme rollout.

00:30He said over the next six months, insurance cards from expats will be accepted at all

00:34DHA facilities.

00:36Expats will also soon be free to choose whether they wish to be treated at a government or

00:40a private medical facility.

00:43Cricket's Big Three of India, England and Australia are set to rule the sport following

00:47an International Cricket Council meeting in Dubai last night.

00:51The six-hour meeting recognized the need for strong leadership of the governing body,

00:55with the Board of Control for Cricket in India taking a central role.

00:59Syrian peace talks in Geneva have broken up early amid opposition demands that the government

01:04address the question of a transition of power.

01:08Opposition spokesmen said that they want Bashar al-Assad government to have time to come up
