00:11The UAE will know this evening if the country is going to host the Expo 2020 in Dubai. The

00:17168 members of the Bureau International d'Exposéon will start voting at 5.30pm UAE time to determine

00:24who gets the honour.

00:26The other competing cities are Izmir in Turkey, Yekaterinburg in Russia and Sao Paolo in Brazil.

00:35The Ministry of Labour is making it clear for workers who may still be uncertain regarding

00:40which days are being given in lieu of the upcoming National Day holiday on Monday. All

00:53in lieu in advance to give employees a longer weekend.

00:57Thai political protests spread outside the capital today as opposition demonstrators

01:39flight plans when traversing it triggered a storm of diplomatic protests. The Pentagon

01:44said it did not comply with Chinese rules.

01:47Sport and Chelsea reached the UEFA Champions League knockout stage last night, despite

01:52a 1-0 victory by Basel in Group E. Barcelona, without Lionel Messi but already into the

01:58last 16, went down 2-1 to Ajax Amsterdam. AC Milan, meanwhile, thrashed Celtic 3-0 away

02:04and have eight points to Ajax 7 in Group H after ending the Glasgow's side hopes.

02:10And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 26 degrees Celsius, dropping

02:15to 18 degrees at night.
