00:11Turkey's economy and interior ministers resigned today in the first cabinet shake-up over a

00:16high-level corruption probe that has pitted the government against the judiciary and rattled

00:21foreign investor confidence.

00:23The news of Interior Minister Muammar Guler's resignation broke just minutes after Economy

00:27Minister Zafar Khaglayan said he was stepping down. The sons of both men are among two

00:32dozen people who have been charged as part of a high-level bribery and corruption probe

00:37that has hit Erdogan with the biggest challenge yet to his 11 years in power.

00:42Egypt's former Prime Minister Hisham Qandil, who served under the nation's toppled president,

00:46has been arrested to serve a one-year prison sentence. A court sentenced Qandil to prison

00:51for failing to implement a court order. The sentence was issued before a popularly backed

00:56military coup overthrew President Mohamed Morsi on July 3.

01:00Brazil may be facing its worst floods in 90 years after torrential rains left 30 people

01:05dead. Nearly 50,000 people have been forced to leave their homes. President Dilma Rousseff

01:10has pledged billions of dollars in federal aid to two southeastern states where floods

01:15cause maximum damage. She said she had never seen such flooding before and promised to

01:20rebuild the affected areas. There are fears that the death toll may rise further.

01:25Pakistan look to clinch the five-match one-day series when they take on Sri Lanka in the

01:29fourth ODI in Abu Dhabi today. Ms Baul Haq's men are up 2-1 in the series after three matches.

01:41Whitney Houston and other artists, has died at a California hospital after suffering a

01:46brain aneurysm on December 13 during a show in California. He was 59. He died while being

01:52treated at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.
