00:00Today's weather is brought to you by the color grey. Lots of grey skies, some thick

00:05cloud, even some murky conditions in a few places. The murkiest weather, if we

00:10look at the satellite and radar from earlier on, was in association with a

00:13cut-off small low-pressure system to the southeast of us. That brought some murky

00:18low cloud across parts of the southeast, even a bit of rain. Otherwise you can see

00:23a largely cloudy start for many of us and some outbreaks of drizzly rain, even

00:27a bit of sleet and hill snow. We still have high pressure to the northeast of

00:30us and that's still dragging in that easterly wind. As a result, it's across

00:34eastern areas where we have the thickest cloud and the greatest chance of some

00:38outbreaks of rain. The rain doesn't look particularly heavy but we could still

00:41see some sleet, even a bit of hill snow perhaps, particularly over the Pennines,

00:45the Grampians for example. There will be some brighter breaks towards the west,

00:49especially across western, northwestern parts of Scotland, but perhaps not as

00:53many breaks, not as sunny as it was yesterday here. Now because of the cloud,

00:58it is going to be feeling pretty cold. We have cold air across us as well and

01:02that blanket of cloud means it's going to feel chilly, especially in places

01:06exposed to that easterly wind. So down the eastern coast of the UK and even across

01:10northern areas, the wind's going to be pretty brisk. Further south, the wind a

01:14little bit lighter than yesterday, so maybe feeling a little bit less chilly

01:18but nonetheless these temperatures are a bit disappointing for the time of year.

01:23Lots of clouds sticking with us as we go through the evening overnight, still

01:27dampest towards eastern parts and still a little bit of wintryness perhaps over

01:31some higher ground. There will be some wet weather pushing into parts of the

01:34Republic of Ireland and this may just about clip parts of Cornwall, but most

01:38places staying largely dry apart from any outbreaks of rain coming in from the

01:42east. Like I said, staying pretty cloudy though there will be some clearer breaks

01:46across western parts and where we see these clearer breaks, we are going to see

01:50temperatures dipping a bit below freezing, so a touch of frost, even some

01:53patches of fog or freezing fog possible here, but most places under that cloud

01:58temperatures not dropping a huge amount from the daytime highs, so not especially

02:02warm by any means, but not particularly cold either. As we go through tomorrow

02:06then, a cloudy start, any mist and fog patches towards the west will be

02:11relatively slow to clear, but eventually they should. I think there will be a bit

02:15more sunshine on offer for some of us tomorrow, particularly across western

02:18parts, some southern areas too, but in the east that clouds going to be pretty

02:22stubborn, so staying grey and cloudy here. Even a few more outbreaks of rain quite

02:27likely as well. Temperatures though may be up a degree or two for some of us,

02:31perhaps getting into double figures towards the far southwest, the Isles of

02:35Scilly perhaps, but most places still a little bit below average for the time of

02:39year and again if you're stuck under that cloud it is going to feel chilly.

02:43Now as we look further ahead through the rest of the week and beyond and we are

02:47eventually going to see a change. It's going to stay pretty cloudy and cold

02:51for a little while yet, but we will start to see some fronts coming in from the

02:54southwest. A little bit of uncertainty as to how quickly they are going to push

02:58through, but if they do and make their way in and hit the cold air across us

03:02then that could bring some snow, but at the moment nothing looks particularly
