US President Trump confirms that he will give ‘great consideration’ to an Australian exemption in the United State’s steel and aluminium tariff.

00:08steel and it's going to mean a lot of businesses are going to be opening in the United States.

00:14Mr. President, the Australian Prime Minister has said that you are considering an exemption

00:18for Australia on steel.

00:19Is that correct?

00:20And why?

00:21I just spoke to him, a very fine man, and he has a surplus.

00:25I mean, we have a surplus with Australia.

00:29One of the few, and the reason is they buy a lot of airplanes.

00:32They are rather far away and they need lots of airplanes and we actually have a surplus.

00:37It's one of the only countries which we do and I told him that that's something that

00:42we will give great consideration to.

00:44And would you consider one for the UK as well?

00:46Well, we have a huge deficit with the UK.
