00:00Motorists may be required to pay a particular amount if the government moves forward with a processed
00:06congressional fee on EDSA. This comes after Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA
00:13officials met with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and other officials to discuss the government's comprehensive traffic management plan
00:20which includes the CEDD plan. Noel Talacay tells us more.
00:25Due to current traffic situation on EDSA, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA has now suggested imposing a concession fee on motorists passing through the CEDD main thoroughfare during rush hour. Senator Joel Villanueva is not in favor of this in a statement. He said that instead of charging motorists, the work-from-home law should be maximized. He said this will give motorists the opportunity to work from home.
00:55This will not only ease the traffic flow on EDSA, but will also provide work-life balance for employees. Call Center Agent Victoria agrees with this. She is more in favor of the work-from-home setup to reduce traffic congestion along EDSA. Her company is also in favor of this work arrangement.
01:15Senator Villanueva also said there should be a fair and long-term solution, not one that will add to the burden of commuters and motorists. Even Pauline, a student, wants to work from home too. She thinks this will help resolve the long-standing problem on EDSA.
01:37Maybe work from home because a lot of people commute every day.
