Bishops call for integrity as impeachment of VP Duterte advances

Some Catholic bishops affiliated with Caritas Philippines are urging public officials to “uphold the truth and ensure that justice prevails” as impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte move forward amid corruption charges.

Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo of Kidapawan, president of Caritas Philippines, made the appeal on Feb. 5, following the lower house’s vote to impeach the nation’s second highest official.
