Argentina Says It Will Withdraw From the World Health Organization

The government of Argentina announced on Wednesday that the South American country will withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO) due to its "deep differences" with the health management it carries out, in line with the decision recently announced by its top ally, US President Donald Trump.

00:33to intervene in our sovereignty,

00:35much less in our health.

00:37It should be clarified that Argentina does not receive funding

00:40from the WHO for health care management.

00:43Therefore, this measure, as some have said,

00:47at least on social networks,

00:50does not represent a loss of funds for the country

00:52nor affects the quality of services.

00:54On the contrary, it gives the country greater flexibility

00:58to implement policies adapted to the context or interests

01:02that Argentina requires,

01:05as well as greater availability of resources

01:08and reaffirms our path towards a country

01:11with sovereignty also in health.
