You enjoyed the celebrations at the end today, didn't you?
00:02
Yes, I did. Yes, it was a big day for us.
00:04
It's not a million miles away and it's always a decent atmosphere.
00:08
I always think it's a really decent away end as well.
00:12
You've got to, haven't you?
00:15
We've had a week where we were a losing team.
00:19
It was a difficult week for us to take because I didn't think that
00:22
we were absolutely miles off of it against all, but the result is the result
00:26
and you lose a game of football and when you win, you've got to enjoy it.
00:29
Hopefully, all our supporters and the manager will enjoy it over the weekend.
00:33
The result was the biggest thing.
00:35
It always is.
00:36
You'd like to play better, but I think when you add everything
00:40
into the mix, five players coming into the team,
00:44
Vinnie Souza back out after a long time out,
00:47
Amzah not playing a lot of minutes, Ben not playing a lot of minutes,
00:51
Ari Clarke not playing a lot of minutes, Tom Cannon's second game.
00:56
From that point of view,
00:58
a modified minutes for a few, a few getting 90 minutes.
01:02
I'm absolutely delighted.
01:03
I'm delighted for, yet again, the 3,500,
01:06
whatever, 4,000 United fans at the end.
01:08
It was a tough game because, as I said before,
01:11
Paul's teams are organised.
01:13
They go man for man.
01:13
They press.
01:14
The pitch isn't the best and they make it really difficult.
01:17
There are certain aspects of our game that I wasn't comfortable with and didn't enjoy.
01:21
I thought transition from when we won it and we gave it away too cheaply.
01:25
We gave too many fouls away that allowed them to pump the ball in their box.
01:28
And they're a game and they should have had better results
01:32
than their performances have been.
01:35
They certainly should have beat Watford.
01:36
Certainly should have got a result against Sunderland.
01:40
And we knew it was going to be a difficult afternoon, as I said, in the presser.
01:43
But any part of the season, a win's a win.
01:47
But I think, in terms of the work that we've had to pile into the players
01:51
this week and for us to get over the line,
01:54
not in the ideal way, not in a way that I would have liked.
01:57
We've had to work hard for it against spirited opponents.
01:59
But with all those things that we've had to deal with,
02:03
to get a big three points is massive for us.
02:06
I know you want more.
02:07
I know you'd love one more through on Monday.
02:09
How confident are you that you will get an extra defensive option?
02:12
Yes, we're light at centre-half losing suit.
02:15
So the board and the owners know my stance and my position on that.
02:20
We're working extremely hard.
02:21
I spoke to Stephen Bettis this morning and he understands it.
02:25
We're doing whatever we can do.
02:26
We've put a couple of bids in for players
02:30
and we're monitoring other situations.
02:32
We're confident that we'll get one in.
02:35
But still, we've got 72 hours to go and a little bit longer.
02:39
So, I know, like we talked about, we're bringing parity back to the group.
02:45
That's all we're doing.
02:47
Thankfully, in terms of the quality, and I thank the board for that.
02:50
But we're just adding that numbers.
02:52
This week, training has gone through the roof in terms of the quality.
02:56
You look at our bench today and you look at our squad today,
02:59
and when I'm putting a team sheet in at quarter-two,
03:00
I'm putting a top-end Championship team sheet into the referee.
03:06
So, that's where it is and the likes of Gus coming back
03:11
and Tom Davies coming back and Kiefer coming back
03:13
is only going to help us in terms of our quest to win games of football.
